Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, its lovely!!

Now can anyone suggest please how to get some information on a specific mod? I bought a couple last time I was looking at quitting the cigs, but dont know too much about them and I need assistance on 1. Its a istick Pico mega. Do I just do a search on that item or can I post a question? It will take me a while to get the hang of this site again and I wasnt on for long before last time. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you,

    Ali

    iStick Pico MEGA Review
    http://www.levapelier.com/en/istick-pico-mega-by-eleaf-2/

Both sites leave decent reviews, and it would appear that another PICO model leaves quite an impression. PICOs in general are very hard to come by anymore simply because they're cheap, and have a lot to offer beyond their reliability. You will need an 18650 or 26650 external battery for it though. Also, from the latter review, it would appear that it's restricted to a 22mm tank. The tank that comes with it will obviously be fine, but for future reference if you choose to kit it with a different tank - that will be something you have to keep in mind.

Thank you for the info @Z-Lee, yes it is restricted in size. I have one I purchased and it has just been in storage. The vape works but the screen doesnt. So I am using it and only using the up and down buttons occasionally. I have a normal pico too but I prefer this one. I have a larger tank for it already and I use a 18650 battery. I have a couple of other mods and am playing around with them, but Im shopping like a madwoman lol :):):):)

Thank you @Bliss Doubt, She is beautiful. I spent 2 hours taking pictures of lions at the zoo to get that one. :)

I love to compare performances on mods and tanks, so I'm always on the search for something else to get. Let me know if you're looking for something specific, or have questions about certain items. Deals are everywhere, don't hesitate to wait a bit on purchases if you're not in need of it. Happy hunting!

I have a few Pico Mega mods in my storage and one I have been using now for about a year. I highly suggest getting a 26650 battery if you can as you will be able to change battery less often, but it does add to the weight. But 18650 batteries work if that's all you can get.

Too bad your screen burned out. I have heard that about Pico mods before, but I have never had one burn out on me yet. I have a Pico 75W that's 4+ years old and the screen has dimmed a bit, but hasn't burned out yet.

As was mentioned, being an older Pico mod it has a 22mm tank width limitation. However, if you want to use a wider tank on it, you can use a 22mm heat sink on it. The heat sink is tall enough to raise the tank base over the battery cap and therefore allow you to fit a tank that's over 22mm wide. There are 4 downsides to this method...
    1) adds extra height to the tank
    2) adds extra weight to the whole setup
    3) in order to change the battery you have to remove the tank (or at least unscrew it 75% of the way) in order to get the battery cap off.
    4) You get that overhang look that some people don't like.

IMHO, all the above is a small price to pay to rid yourself of the 22mm limitation.

This is the regular Pico 75W with the heat sink and a 25mm tank. It would look and work the same on the Pico Mega.

It's just as well to search for things before you ask questions because your question might have been answered 15 times recently. However, the site's search feature isn't always the best, so I recommend using Google site search. In the Google search bar, type (or paste) site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com and then enter your search terms, and Google will search the site for you.

If you don't find what you're looking for or if you get hit by an avalanche of barely related hits, feel free to post any vaping-related questions here. As a new member (or an honourary second-time new member), you can start a new thread in this forum (New Members) until you get to a certain number of posts, at which point you'll be blocked from starting threads here, although you can still reply. At that point, or if you have a more complicated or detailed question to ask, it's best to post it in the appropriate forum on the main board. For example, your question about the Pico Mega would also fit in the VV/VW APV Discussion subforum under the APV and Mods Discussion forum.

Welcome back, and best of luck on your transition to vaping!

You guys are great, thank you so much! @UncleJunkie, my screen didnt burn out, it hadnt been used since I bought it. It was sitting in the box and when I got it out.. no screen. Luckily I decided to try vaping with it even though it didnt show me in any way that there was power. I can change tanks with different coils in and it just goes no matter what I put on it. I rather love it, and its so much nicer than the normal pico, I prefer the weight too. Im happy with the smaller battery though, Im getting reasonable life out of them, just dont ask me what wattage I have it on lol. I bought the Melo III tank at the same time, its 4 ml and is still sitting in its box.. Im working my way up to this. Good advice about the heat sink though thank you. Maybe I will end up getting this mod fixed, though I was thinking the repair would probably cost as much as the mod, if you could buy one

@FranC, thank you, I love your wolves! There is something about us ladies that admire powerful animals dont you think? :)

@Hawise, thank you for the advice. If you see me asking questions and it looks like I havent looked, it will be because I forgot. Please dont hesitate to remind me, I just have memory problems though so I will apologize in advance for anything like that. Its all good, I laugh at myself with it, my memory went in 3 weeks with a health condition so I had to laugh or cry about it, I have an awesome sense of humor now, I will just try not to annoy everyone with my bad memory. I do try and look back if possible.

@Z-Lee, there is something you might already have the information on.. I know I am starting out, but Im a bit of a DIY type and I have just bought a couple of basic and cheap rtas to play with. I love the look of the rdas though and I have a passion for stainless steel. I used to sell stainless jewelry locally when I had to stop working but still needed things to do. I have a truckload still here if anyone knows someone who might be interested. I dont do anything by halves it seems.... distracted so easily sorry, I would love to find an rta that has no glass basically. The last couple of weeks playing with the pico and a couple of other little mods I have, I can tell when the juice is getting down without needing to look. If it has a viewing section thats fine, but not big sections that will break the third time you drop them. Saying that because the mega has hit the floor twice already and no broken glass.. touch wood.

Thank you again everyone, have a great day!

@Z-Lee, recant ... I take that back..I just looked at FastTech as the name was mentioned on another post I was reading, there are heaps of rtas with hardly any glass, you would be going for ages I imagine. It just might have to be something I think of as a long term project to find one that suits me. If I think of anything else I will be sure to ask though, thank you.

Sounds like it may have somehow have been put into stealth mode. Try holding the fire button and the minus (-) button at the same time for about 3 seconds. That'll bring it out of stealth mode if in fact it is in stealth mode. |
