3.4 Ohm Dual Coil

Did you use any special tricks to get a wrap that neat and well spaced? That's a work of art compared to some of mine.

I do not see how the coil/coils are even still working @ 7.4V, I agree that is has to be in the 3Ω range because under 1Ω at that voltage would be a sizzling lip melting 60-ish watts of power. That would be redunkulously hot to vape

... I'm not the only one vaping 3 and 4 ohms, chinese or rebuildable atty's, anyways w/o any problems. I know a couple others, both friends, and both here in ecf that vape exclusively at 7.4v or higher, using the same size coils....(2 ohms in my iAtty which is a bit warm, 3 ohms in Ody).....it's a warm hit, but not as warm as you'd expect..........W=V(squared) /R so it would be 18.333 watts for a 3 ohm atty...that's nothing .... thats a big difference to a 1 ohm coil at 54.76 watts lol, THAT would definitely fry anyways but, he also mentioned that it's 32ga? kanthal if I remember too so that'll handle the power easier than the 36ga...

When you check your final ohms reading do you do so when it's assembled in its base by attaching the negative lead to the outside of the 510 connector and the positive on the centre pole? If so it sounds like 2 of the coils could be touching at some point causing the resistance to jump up.

aye would have to agree, if he's reading over 3 ohms with the dual coil set-up, that his coils are shorting together, which will increase the resistance...

I agree w/ ya.... Z did wrap and take a picture of such a purty coil there....mine dont look so good, my eyes arent as good as they used to be

Agreed, I vape at 6.4v with a 2.9ohm and 7.4v with a 3.2 ohm and the vapor is nice and warm but not hot.

Oh I understand vaping 7 V with a 3,4,or even 5Ω but at 1Ω that would be immensly hot. You misunderstood me.

Love to see it. My third try did a decent 4.5 ohm, but but I trimmed the wick to short causing issues and it was ugly as sin.

Hoping to have the dexterity to rebuild the current failure tomorrow. If I can get it close to that neat, I'll be happy.

Are the 2 resistance wires both spliced into a single no-res wire at each end? 2 into one style? Or does each resistance wire have it's own separate no-res ends?

Also, can someone tell me what is the resistance wire that comes with the Ody?
32... 36 ga? Kanthal?

I belive Imeo said that the R wire that came with the ODY is 0.15 mm Nicrome which I believe is somewhere between 34 and 35 ga.
