Has anyone tried using a digital pot on a 3.7 step up? Or even a 7.4 step down?

i have been playing with the idea. Found a digital pot, emailed the company that made the pot about using it on a mini lm2596 replacement.
The pot they recommended is ISL22511 - Single Push Button Controlled Potentiometer (XDCPâ„¢), Low Noise, Low Power, 32 Taps, PushButton Controlled Potentiometer , the guy said that it would be tricky and there would be a voltage loss due to the fact that you will need to brig the voltage down to 5.5v which is the max for the digital pot.

So I was thinking if the pot is 2.7 to 5.5v then a step up converter could be used and be ok. Correct? If so what step up? I was thinking about the ptn04050c.

The thing is, I'm dumb when it comes to wiring schematics (I can't read them). So as far as wiring the ptn04050c to be vapeable, let alone wiring it with a digital pot, I would need someone to make it stupidable for me to do.

There the most beautiful mod is lol
thats pretty easy

where do you need help its pretty str8 forward.
He only uses one button tho but theres another schematic with dual up down buttons used

Thanks for all your help so far visus. I have never had the opportunity to learn what all the squiggly lines and breaks are on the schematics. So if there is a two button I don't know which one it is.

What is it that I'm looking for to tell me there are two switches for the pot?

Twisted, are you saying that unless a person is a certified electrician they should not consider learning everything they can about building a mod before they just dig in? I did not realize this was a forum restricted to electricians and that people eager to learn to pursue their love for vaping were restricted from asking for help from more knowledgeable people to expand their knowledge! Are we now requested to not read this forum as well?

Nope. That's not what I'm saying. Anyone that has been into vaping for very long & actually cares about it, knows what I'm talking about. That's all the explaining that should be needed from me.

This post has the two buttons and a meter it looks more difficult but is also an easy build.
Build the mod with an analog pot 1st IMO then you get a feeling for how it goes digitally
If you research on Breaks forum its possible to build all Breaks mods 100% FREE
all my mods were 100% FREE enclosure, parts, everything ..

Thank you very much for this vapant. This has answered all of my questions as far as the symbols. I can now read schematics lol!!

Now for the meeter. Can I wire the meeter positive and negative from the atty? Or will this cause an issue? I don't want to flip switches to adjust and then flip them again to vape.

Thanks again to everyone that has enlightened me!

that will work fine, only reason for switching would be to allow you to flip over to straight from the battery to see the state of the battery discharge...

Yea I was just looking at the schematics for that, and that's a good idea haha. I was looking at it wrong and was thinking it was switch to adjust voltage then switch back to vape.
