3 twists broke... Need something more durable. (Please help :\ )

So the story goes, started with one of those cig style ones from volcano.
Was on it for a good 2 weeks wasn't working good enoguh to quit.

Stopped vaping.

Year later I pick up an inferno (ego) from volcano, vape on that for a solid 3 months of not smoking.
Get a twist... vape on that for a few months, get another twist just incase, both break in a two week period.
Get a third twist as a free replacement, it breaks after a few months...

Now I've been smoking for the last 2 months.
I hate it... but I don't want to drop $30 in something that will not last me.

Need something VV, lasts a good amount of time off charge, inexpensive, DURABLE.

Wow, you must give your stuff a beat down! I would go all in and get a ProVari if you can. They come with a warranty. That's my plan. Otherwise. Check out the zmax on madvapes. Haven't tried it, but the reviews have been pretty good.

If you've broken three twists in two months (~$90), you'd be more than 50% on your way to a rugged APV.

I consider $30 cheap, and no I don't give them a beat down but they sit in pockets all day and at home they tend to fall over.

Also they are kinda wonky with the button, I dropped mine onto carpet and the button got jammed... I fixed it but it led to more problems over time

2) Lay them down so they won't fall over
3) Don't drop them
4) Get a new pv and follow steps 1-3

Three Twists in a row gone belly up may or may not be a telegram to you from Cosmic Central, but I certainly understand your not wanting to buy another and looking for a more dependable PV.

Wait long enough, however, and everything breaks. These days, the questions I ponder are: Do I prefer to buy a PV that I simply throw away if it breaks, or do I choose to buy one where, if it breaks, I go to the trouble of sending it back to the vendor for repair or replacement. Over two years and five or six examples of vendor repairs, I haven't had a particularly good track record. It's been hit-or-miss---sometimes fine, sometimes not.

A Vtube (Lava or otherwise) is more likely to be a repair-it-yourself-or-throw-it-away proposition. A ProVari is a definite have-the-vendor-repair-it device.

Spending more on a PV doesn't always mean more durable or dependable, but anything under $30 is the vaping equivalent of Bic lighter or a cheap ball-point pen.

It comes down to weighing the obvious factors---money, time, hassle---and acknowledging the possible intervention of intangible factors---chance, luck, fate, karma.

I recommend either getting yourself a zmax or a provari. The provari is warrantied for a year, but its also almost $200 with warranty... Without warranty, at least you can send it back and pay to have it repaired. My Lavatube version 1 is not to be trusted, haha. Its buttons just aren't how I like them to be. I haven't had a chance to try the new lavatube, but I'd personally stay away from the lavatube line until the new version 2.0 comes out. (rumored to come out in december-january) I want a Zmax. They seem awesome and they are getting good reviews thus far. Problem? With products like the zmax, there will (probably) always be a newer version coming out... similar to the iphone or the ipods. Can u handle buying something that will become "obsolete" in 6 to 12 months? In my personal opinion, the Zmax sounds like an awesome machine as it is.

You might consider an all mechanical APV. I use a Super-T P-18 with cartos and just recently with a Penelope. No wires and no problems, it just "works". Puresmoker Legacy has a lower price point but again is all mechanical.

It is to me a message, to quit buying eGo's and move on. I always wanted a bigger mod but always just said if it works why change it...
but it stopped working.

I mainly just drip, maybe a tank if I find decent cartos down the line...


I'll look into mechanical mods, I have to come to a decision by the day after tomorrow... since I will be getting paid that day, anything is better than these cigs at this point.
(Also been waiting for the LT2 to come out since volcano announced it in july... it is now oct and many many long waited days and its still not out, Done waiting on that :\)

I´d go Provari or Reo... I don´t own a provari, but do own 3 Reos and they are almost indestructible. You can get a regular Reo (mechanical, volts are what you put in) for less than a hundred in the classies or a VV Reo for 200 bucks new.

I get the annoyance of having to replace stuff and being put out when things break unexpectedly. However, I'm also curious how much you've spent on cigarettes in the last two months. It sounds like you had about $90 worth of battery failure for 6 months of vaping. So even though it sounds like the Twists aren't really durable enough for you, your battery costs were at $15/month. Where I live, that's two packs of cigarettes. If $30 plus the liquid and other hardware costs are less than two months of cigarettes, then you still did better financially vaping than you did smoking.

I do think you'd ultimately be less frustrated with something that you can rely on long term. If you're not finding the right thing at the moment or want to hold off on the expense, you could just get more Twists and change the way you treat them. I don't stand mine on end because they absolutely will fall over. I either just lay them on their sides (since I use clearos) or I put them in a highball glass. The second option would be better for you if you drip.

I also don't put mine in a pocket because I'm a woman and I have a handbag. It's hard for me to picture how that works because women's trousers have teeny pockets. My back pockets are barely deep enough for my mobile. It sticks out the top. Front pockets are like 4" deep. If my PV was the size of a lipgloss, this would work. So was the Twist getting bent or crushed in there? Knocked into other things? Just wondering what a new PV with different dimensions would do. Pretty much any other APV out there is going to be thicker than your Twist. Many are longer as well. It would help for people to know what the stressors were so they can think about what to recommend. Also, the way you carry it in your pocket, is there a likely danger of the button activating? If so, it would be good if it had the feature where you can turn it off. Many APVs have that now but not all of them.

yep i broke 2 KGOs and 3 Twists in a matter of 2 months and a KGO VV. Most from center pin issues, one snapped the switch off in my pocket, etc...I soldered wire and fixed them several times, but they are never the same and the internals are made from mystery materials as well. so I said I'm done with egos and bought a SS vtube, buzz pro, reo mini, provari, precise 18650, and a chameleon mod. Sold the Provari and others I didn't need and bought 2 kicks for the Reo Grand and Chameleon. Both all mechanical, both easily replaceable and available parts. I still think these are too freaking big for my liking. I repaired the SuperEgo VV and get a great vape but i'm sure it won't be working for long with me as it's owner. All I want is something smaller diameter like a twist or precise, VV or VW, with a reliable 510 that isn't sealed by a rubber grommet, not the length of a pool stick, and doesn't make my pant fall down when in my pocket.

I just don't see why I need to carry around a big heavy device with all the smaller form factor VV devices coming out now. And they will get better and smaller and not be an ego.

Man honestly I bought my vtube lavatube whatever from apollo and it's the same price with discount code. the difference is in the 1 YEAR WARRANTY. My 510 had become a bit too wide and impossible to thread anything on there and they sent me a brand new one no questions asked. and the one i sent back had dents and damage all over it. the reg kit is $52.47 and the SS i got was like $74 total. I would have a useless mod if I bought it somewhere with a 30 or 90 day warranty. just something to think about.

I'm happy with the buzz pro, vtube, and these 2 mechanical kicked mods -I just bathed the reo in the sink!

But as soon as something smaller comes along these will be gone.

I'm still new to all this, so I don't know if this will be of any help. I am a Trucker by trade, dripping is at least inconvenient and possibly hazardous when driving nearly 80,000 lbs at 70 mph. I asked about durable cartos, and it was suggested to me to go with a REO mini. Absolutly the perfect rough-service PV. Just fill the bottle, put in a battery and go! I've thought about going VV, but when I do it'll be a REO Grand VV. Might be around $200 (after buying batteries) but in my line of work everything in the truck gets beat-up, yet REOSmods seem to be able to withstand the beating.

There are so many options it's amazing.
You can by several good options for the price of a Provari.
Lavatube 2.0 will be out any time and be almost as good as the
Provari. Volcano Lavatube 2.0 will be half the price of the Provari.
Zmax is another nice option.
Either way, there are massive options.

The TELESCOPE Mod - Has a Mechanical button and are pretty heavy duty. Not a lot to go wrong.
Use just about any battery.
