316 stainless steel Genisis, no lathe

I used two 316 stainless steel 1/2" npt female caps and one 316 stainless steel square head plug.
I took the square head plug and cut the square off with a dremel. than threaded the top with a 1/2" npt die. next I screwed the plug into one female cap than the other cap went on to the plug without the square head. Now I have a genisis body that looks like this:

The only thing left is to drill a hole for a 510 drip tip in the cap and ce2 atomizer connection in the base, than add m3-.5 screws, threading and heat shrink to isolate the positive post. I'm using 10 awg 316 steel tubing inside heat shrink soldered to the ce2 positive post for the positive terminal. I will drill a 2.5mm hole for the negative terminal and a 1/16" hole for the wick. I will also tap the 10 awg tubing to fit an m3-.5 screw. I have nylon spacers to raise the positive post higher than the negative post. I should be done this by tuesday.( waiting on the m3-.5 tap to arrive) To fill I am putting a threaded hole in the side of the base with a machine screw.

they are pipe caps npt stands for national pipe thread. The downsides of these are for 3/4" npt threads the od is just over 1" and they are thick walled and heavy. You can get them at any hardware store or online.

thx, i was having trouble seeing what you mean to do, as i understand now this would be the base and tank together. very interesting. i will search net and maybe see if there are some thinner walled stuff out there. however the price looks to be very good with what you have together

you are correct and I got what is pictured in 316l stainless steel for just over $15 add the free atty connector from a broken ce2 and a m3-.5 tap I will have a nice genisis for under $25.

how much ejuice will it hold do you think?

I'll have to check and get back with the exact measurement. But a quick guess would be about 5ml or 6ml.

Nice progress, lathe free isn't easy. One thing I would recommend is going to a 2mm hole for the wick, 1.6 sounds rather small and could lead to decreased wicking. Raidy himself tested various diameters, some much larger, and found the 2mm to be optimum.

I gave up on the pipe fittings, the walls are too thick and the weight is to great. Not worth it to me after messing around with the idea. These two compartment pill fobs will be a lot better suited to the task.

Huh? I was in walgreens a couple of weeks ago and they had the plain vanilla alu fobs for 4.99. Guess I'll have to look again closer. These could be useful.
