Possum64, stick to your guns and reduce/quit smoking in a way that is comfortable for you. It is not a competition. In my case, the immediate goal is to reduce - and vaping has allowed me to do that. In the last week, I smoked 56 cigs. Before August, I would have smoked 175 in a 7 day period and that is a conservative estimate. In my case, if I chucked out my cigarettes right now, I would be back smoking in a matter of weeks if not days. I have still not found a juice that is completely satisfying to me which I think is key.
An important lesson for me, from my experience reducing through vaping, is I now see that smoking a cigarette is a choice I make - it didn't feel that way before - it was a compulsion.
Absolutely true. I'll also say having a few that do the trick should be the end goal. I never stop trying new juices but rarely buy anything but my go-to. Having something else around to change things up a bit will help ensure your mainstay doesn't go stale on you. I have my ADV and generally a fruity menthol to swap in when the mood strikes. My regular always pops afterwards like a good vape palate cleanse.
Gentlemen, thank you. You are both correct, I need to plod along in my own little way, one day at a time. tgs3, I too would not be able to stick with just vaping right at this time. For some reason, those few ciggies a day is what is keeping me going on the vaping...strange, but true. It is satisfying at the end of the day to count how many cigs I HAVEN'T smoked....a huge reduction that is for sure.
I have quite a stash of juices now, in my quest to find my ADV...I am loving this journey!
