Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love
And hold her tight, so happy together

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together

I can't see me loving nobody
But you for all my life
When you're with me, baby
The skies will be blue for all my life

Good to hear, Evie. That's a lot to mentally process. Take your time, we're always here.

Curious minds want to know... Do you agree with her reasoning about getting down to 0 nic and then totally quitting? She doesn't want you vaping 0 nic?

How exactly does extensive harm reduction become it's own addiction? That doesn't even make sense.

If I can, I agree. Vaping is way better than smoking, no doubt. And I can guess not vaping is better than vaping. Not by the same measure. Harm elimination vs harm reduction. And the effects of nicotine on the circulatory system might have concerns to a cardio specialist. Just guessing here.

I'm betting Evie is glad she quit smoking at the start of the year. Going through that plus cold turkey? uuggghh.

Oh well, a girl can always use a good male nurse, masseur, cabana boy, vape holder while bathing, we can all learn from poor Diva's Manuel. ;)

in evie's write up, they want her to stop consuming things (caffine) and activitites (stress & take it easy) that would cause her heart rate to acceleate. Nicotine can cause it to accelerate over the baseline of a person without it. So in this particular case it just acts as one more lifestyle choice that can be elimated to further reduce risk of her pericardial sac from becoming inflamed and filling with liquid, which in turn will cause her symptoms to come back.

You're right. The whole community is still waiting for legitimate universal statistics. I think we will be waiting awhile before the "9x%" harm reduction statistics come into to the light, and is widely recognized and accepted.

I just feel like if you can't quit putting analogs between your lips, switching to vaping should be of little to no concern, nicotine OR no nicotine.

I am aware of that. My father is going through a much more severe heart condition.

Which is why I was asking why 0 nic would be an issue with her cardiologist.

because it still mimics the behavior associated with vaping, making it easy to slip back into vaping.

Just like often most cardiologist when they tell you to quit coffee, tell you it is best to avoid decaff too. It is a behavioral gateway back into the "habit" of the addiction.

You can't slip back into vaping, if you are already vaping.

To be fair, Decaf coffee is not Caffeine-free, but 0 Nic really means no nicotine.

+1 here Dave. Also as far as nic/cardio correlation, you're exactly correct. Nic obviously is a stimulant (obvious probs there) and causes vaso-constriction thereby further increasing pressure and reducing flow rates. Couple those two together and one can see that it can be detrimental especially in anyone with a problem or predisposition to having one. :2c:
