I've seen a couple of places on the internet selling starter kits that tout their batteries as being better, since theirs are 4.5 volts instead of the standard 3.7.

I'm not going to purchase a kit just to find out if it's true, but my question is, are these batteries really different than others in that their lithium batteries actually put out higher voltage, or are these just spouting some crap?

I dunnow about 4.5V claims, but I have seen 4.2V variable voltage batts with a digital meter coming out for the e-Go series. These are legitimate claims as they're authentic Joye Tech batteries with voltage regulators in the switch.
