I use an ar mod with the aspire nautilus. I know cartos arent intended for a mech. I already have a kayfun but the aspire is just so convienent and has great flavor with the new bvc coils. My ideal voltage on the aspire is 4.8 when its on a vv. So id like to find a way to get my mech firing at 4.8 volts. I took a look at the 4.8v NiMH batteries. However 600mah is pretty low and having to buy a new charger is a big drawback. So as far as i know my only other option is an18500 with a kick. But i dont know much about them. Do they really fire at 4.8 volts? Is it only when the battery is fully charged? And whats the highest mah 18500? In short whats the most effective way to get my mech firing at 4.8 volts?

18500s (often called 18490, which is 1mm shorter) are pretty rare in the safer chemistry versions. The AW IMR 18490 is 1100mAh.

The other problem with the kick is that it will take a bit of fiddling, since the dial is not calibrated even in watts. It will give you the power you need, but you will have to experiment to find it. Once you find it, you will probably have to change it less frequently than a VV device.

The Kick2 uses the IMR battery, because it has boost circuitry that draws excess amps from the battery to produce the voltage/wattage that you have the Kick2 set at. While a 18490 offers 1100mah, you will only see 5-6hrs of vape-time using the Kick2. Extra batteries are a must. The saving grace is 18490s are signifcantly smaller to carry.
There are very good reasons to own a Kick. There are other reasons why some people prefer NOT to use The Kick. It depends on you. Kick does offer a consistent vape at the wattage (heat) you prefer.
