I had not planned on writing any reviews until I had a bit more experience with e-liquids but I realized that I don't have to try every vendor to know what I do like from one.
I have tried 5 flavors so far from The Vapor Room and there is only one I did not care for. Not a shocker either - it was a freebie that I did not request and it is a flavor I don't like in the real world (Irish Cream) so it was unlikely that I would have liked it no matter who made it. The other 4 are another story though and I just wanted to mention them.
Hazelnut tobacco, 50/50, 18mg - When I got this one, I hated it. In fact, I complained about it (without specifying the name or maker) here on ECF. Right out of the box it had a strong licorice (anise) flavor that really struck me as just yuck. Hazelnut always has an undertone of licorice but this was overpowering any creamy quality that might have been there and the tobacco was just lost in all of it. This is where I learned how important steeping some flavors can be. After about 5 days, this came alive. The licorice kick was all but gone and it turned into a smooth, creamy and slightly sweet taste. The tobacco came through as full-bodied and was perfectly paired with the hazelnut. This one is my ADV now.
Peppermint, 50/50, 18mg - I like this one a lot. I am a huge fan of peppermint anything and this is refreshing. Not too strong and not at all sweet. It is more of a straight-up mint. That would be my only complaint. Sometimes I find myself craving something a little more like a candy cane rather than unsweetened peppermint tea so if you looking for candy flavor, this is not the one for you. I would call this altoid-esque, if that helps.
Cranberry, 75/25, 18mg - LOVE this one! I got a small bottle of this with my most recent order (another perk of TVR - free sample bottles with purchase) and I will most definitely be ordering a big one very soon. It is sour, just a hint of sweetness and that delightful little bitterness that only cranberry can deliver. It is as absolutely dead-on as it gets so cranberry lovers grab this one. Seriously. I would call it perfect because... well... it nearly is but I will be asking for an extra flavor hit for my next bottle. Now, that is just me. Cranberry is something I love in any form and I just want as much of it as possible. For the record, I would not recommend starting out with extra flavor. Once this one has steeped, it will most likely be just right for the average fruit lover.
Vanilla Tobacco, 75/25, 18mg - Yum, yum, yum. Like the Hazelnut Tobacco, this one needs to steep to bring out the full depth of the flavor but unlike the other, it is great right out of the box. The vanilla is rich but not too much so and the tobacco is balanced well so it is not overpowered. It is sweet so It is a little heavy for an ADV for me but if you like bakery flavors, it might work for you. The tobacco is not harsh at all - I would compare it more to a sort of light pipe tobacco rather than a typical analog taste. All in all, it is just plain yummy.
I am not going to review the Irish Cream because it I really cannot be objective about it. I can say it if you like that flavor, it certainly seemed spot-on to my taste buds.
As you can see, I like their stuff thus far and I think they are great vendors. Just to clarify, they did not ask me to review anything nor do I have a vested interest in promoting their products. I just like to share when I come across good stuff and they really do have some good stuff!
Happy Vaping!
