Congratulations! I do have a question for you. I have been smoke free for 54 days and on occasion I am still craving that “missing something” (MAOI's). Are you still craving them? And if so, does anybody else know when the cravings will end? I will not give in, but I would think that after a while the cravings should end.

MAOIs are antidepressants that have nothing to do with cigarettes. ;)

If you're still having cigarette cravings, you might need to go to a higher nicotine content.

Also keep in mind that with vaping it takes a little longer for the nicotine to get into your system.

I am vaping 36 mg e-juice approximately 30 ml’s a week; therefore, increasing my nic content would be kind of insane:). I did buy a SB and vape only at 6 volts now which seems to help a bit. I do not crave nicotine; my cravings are for that “missing something” (the other alkaloids present in cigarette smoke which have a similar chemical structure to MAOI's).

I'm just getting over that missing something. And now that since that weird thing is gone, I can go about 5 hours and not even crave any nic at all, though I do still crave nic. It's taken me almost 4 months to overcome that missing something else feeling.

I'm more and more hopeful every day that I will eventually be able to kick nic altogether. I love my vape, don't get me wrong, but I just would like to be free. I've not been free of this since I was 14 years old.

I just realized today is my 4 month anniversary!!! Haven't had a cig since Oct 13th (actually 1/2 cig on that day). Yeah!!!! Although this hasn't been all wine and roses (withdrawals from MAOI's are a bi*ch!:grr:), I am still overjoyed and wanted to share my overjoyed-ness with all you V4L peeps!.:thumb:

Congrats! Popping the bubbly! :)

I guess I should have said "the other alkaloids" instead of strict MAOI's. Pawpaw that's what I meant.

mwahle1 - For the last 3 weeks or so I've been taking vitamin supplements that I've heard help with that. I learned (partly) about them in the Health portion of this Forum.

I'm almost at 4 months (Sept 20), and I have to say that at right around the 3 month point, I could have almost EATEN a carton of cigarettes!! The initial quitting was almost effortless. And for the next 2.5 months or so, it was really easy. Then I started getting these cravings.......not really nic fits, but .......something (alkaloids, or whatever, I guess). There was one day in particular that was really bad, but it finally passed.

Long story short, it took about a week or 2 past 3 months for me to be fully free of the cigarette cravings. Honestly, I can't even remember why I smoked for so long!
