History

It was January 2011 and I was a 1.5PAD smoker, then I found the lowly Ego. When my vapemail arrived, i was off cigs like a light switch. Never NEVER took a drag again. To put this in perspective, my wife still smokes analogs, and the temptation has never been there to pick up the stinky sticks again.

More to my story, been a member on ECF for over 4 yrs, haven't posted in the last 3. But... vaping on ego twists and CE4's for the last several years has been my salvation, I thank the dude that invented these things on a daily basis, I'd be smoking again if it wasn't for the ecigs, i have that addictive type of personality.

Now

So, about a month ago, I came back to ECF to see what was new, and OH MY VAPE... so much has changed and improved. The twist was nice back then, and I've been using them for years without knowing what else was out there, I just reordered what I needed from my go to online evape store. Same Dekang juice, same batts when needed (ego 900 twist), same CE4 clearos.

Went on vacation, went to a town market, seen a pop-up vendor with some weird looking gear, don't even know what it was but probably a Kayfun clone and a big mech mod batt. Piqued my interest and came back here to see if anything had changed. HOLY WOW, we've come a long way.

Fast forward a month, after looking into things I got an Aspire Nautilus mini and a Kamry Pipe MOD, not too impressed with the pipe, but LOVE the aspire. The new atty is light years ahead of the old clearos. I started back when basic carto's were the cutting edge, and the ego tanks were the next big thing. Hated the leaks and constant .6ml refills. This nautilus is friken awesome compared to those. I'm thinking that sooner or later I'll look into a RBA Kayfun or similar, but I'm just enjoying the advances in vape gear that the aspire had shown me for now.

This month alone;

Aspire nautilus mini
EGO1300mah twist for old familiar standby (was only 900 mah max back when i got my last batts...)
VAMO V5 from fasttech (just to try it) ...in the mail

debated on mvp or reo or provari or vrt, settled on vtr as next stepping stone...

ordered vtr.. in the mail
another nautilus mini... in the mail (will modify the ring on the vtr to fit it cause I really like the vape on the nautilus)

still waiting on vapemail, but am really looking forward to the new VW mods. As a tradesperson, I'm thinking that the size and heft of the vtr will be a serious contender for favourite vape.

The part of all of this that is dearest to my heart is that my wife still smokes tobacco rollies, I'm hoping that the new vw advances and some variety of juice will help her find the right vape for her so she can quit for good. I like new toys, but I've been good for a long time now, I hope she can fine what works for her in the vaping world so she can finally kick the habit. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new toys work, and how they work for her...

Cheers fellow vapers...

Flipping fantastic! I salute you sir on your four years! Finally caught the shiny bug, eh?

I think the first ecig, cigalike, was in 2009. Failed at it miserably. Tried it again in 2010 and failed again, primarily because it was recommended I use 4mg juice to quit. What a joke. Took 24mg with a better rig, an ego. That was about a year and a half ago. Found ECF a year ago and man oh man, all the toys you could buy I’d never even heard about.

If your wife like shiny things too, have her browse through this thread when the time seems appropriate. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...show-us-your-girly-pretty-decorated-pink.html

Continued success to you and good luck with your wife joining you as a quitter. :)

Hey Swede! I know the feeling. I quit in February 2011, and I've been away from this forum for the last like year and a half. I just popped back in like a week ago. I didn't really have a need to check out new stuff. I had my Provari, a good rebuildable dripper, a good rebuildable tank atomizer, and a cheap backup rebuildable, and I had learned what works and what doesn't.

The amount of progress is amazing.

Ignorance is bliss, Swede, and your story proves it. You were satisfied until you knew there was more out there, and now you've set off on a never-ending quest. I beg you not to vandalise your VTR, there's no need. You could:

a) remove the air control ring from the mini and fit it to the VTR, then pass the rest of the mini through the VTR top ring.

b) file off the castellations from the air control ring so it passes through the VTR top ring.

c) use the extension tube the vtr will come with.

d) don't use a Nautilus Mini. That's my preferred solution.

Great post, Swede!

Like you, I found relief via Ego batts and clearos (then stardusts, followed by Evods and Protank II's). Although I've been vaping for almost 5 years, I'm coming up on THREE analog FREE years next month, and I owe it all to improved hardware! :)

I love my MVP, and am now considering buying both a Reo AND a Provari to celebrate my 3rd anniversary. No doubt, we're gonna continue on this path for a long time.
It's about TIME! :)

Happy that we'll ALL have MORE time to enjoy breathing and sharing the goodness of Life with those we love. ;)

Congratulations on 4 years cigarette free! I'm now over 2 years and I started with cigalikes, then ego, then a bigger mod, and now Provari with Nautilus Aspire (full size tank) with BVC coils and am extremely satisfied. Like you, I have absolutely no desire to ever pick up a stinky again. I hope your wife joins you someday, just so she can live a longer healthier life at your side.

Congrats again!
