So I got my 510 on Wednesday but after a long day at work, walking the dogs (we have three), etc. decided I'd stick with my trusty Turkish Silvers and play with my new toy the following eve.

Yesterday: got home, cleaned my attys, put the thing together, and I have to admit that this might be the thing. I definitely smoked fewer last night (only had a couple, which is significant). Experienced some gurgling in/of the device, and wasn't sure if I was flooding the atty or running low on liquid. Figured on figuring the next day.

Today: analogs through the morning and working hours. Got home and refilled cartridge - worked like a charm. juice is doing me fine (Rocky Mountain TK blend) but I know I'm gonna be itching for something better soon so I ordered the Johnson Creek sampler pack.

A few questions for the old timers:

My battery seems to be lasting me a good long while, but I'm switching between my PV and analog and I'm guessing that as my PV use increases that will become an issue. Someone mentioned an alternate battery/mod but man these threads get buried quickly...

I ordered 18mg nic and I could definitely sense that it might be on the heavy side for the long run. I'm a pack a day kind of guy. Any good turkish blends with variable nic levels?

I'm curious about the gurgling noise. I thought I'd read somewhere that it could be a flooded atty, but I blew that out and it's still ever-so-slight. Thoughts?

Gurgling is ok... long as its still hittin'....510 battery life sucked for me... like an hour and a half... so four days in I ordered a Riva 510 SE kit from Liberty flights.... 6ish hours per battery ( I used to smoke about two packs a day)... my wife liked the turk-USA blend from liberty flights also.... she used to smoke camel wides.... she says it tastes like the camels smell.

I started vaping in March 2011 with the Riva Lite Kit from Liberty Flights. The Riva batteries are 510s and you can buy batteries individually in a variety of colors for $11.99 from LF. They are rated at 750mAh, last up to 6-8 hours (depending on how heavy you vape) and take about 3 hours or so to charge on an 420mAh charger (you get that with the Riva Kit, or can buy separately). The standard 510 charger at 150mAh will charge it, but it will take longer. I didn't like the Turkish blend from LF, but I love both the Camel PG and VG from MyFreedomSmokes (I mix em for a 50/50 blend) and the Desert Ship PG from Madvapes (50ml for $10.99 - a real bargain).

Get the ego and some cartomizers. Possibly the juice is a little harsh and it's not the nicotine content. I like Rocky Mtn juice but it is PG and some people find that on the harsh side. Try some juice with a little VG to smooth it out. If your still smoking, I'd definitely not go lower than 18 mg.

I'd stick to the 18 at least until your completely off cigarettes - maybe even 24 to get you off cigs and you can always lower your nicotine down the road.

You'll get a better vape with the ego, and to me a more consistant vape with cartomizers and you won't have to fill as often or charge as often. Also you'll be able to use LR cartos but a much better vape.

    in a cave, eh?
Regarding nic strength. You can experiment by getting a strong version of your flavour, i.e. 24mg or higher and a 0mg bottle of the same flavour. Use the 0mg and an empty bottle to mix down the high mg stuff to your desired level. You might find you still want the 18mg stuff or higher for certain times of the day when your cravings are particularly strong.

    First of all...Go BLUE!!!!!!!
Hey Zoe, had to throw that in there! Gurgling sound is flooding in the atomizer or juice in your tip.
I was a pack a day smoker reg strength, 24mg works for me...but 18mg could be your sweet spot, it varies from person to person.
The Ego batteries will work with the 510 atomizer. You can order the cone that goes over the atomizer if your worried about looks, but the 510 atty will work without it. The 1000 mah ego t batteries last me over a day on one charge, Note: you would need the charger for these, or a adabtor to use your 510 charger.
I cannot speak of the mod batteries, but what i have read and researched, they are the bomb! Good luck!

    +1

I can understand direct dripping on an atomizer. I can understand using a cartomizer. The atomizer + carts though....nah. Go ahead and spend $7 on a 5 pack of cartomizers (especially if you stick to a single juice). I'm not sure I understand why any kits would come with atomizers/carts anymore, but that's just my opinion.

For what its worth, an eGo 650mah battery would last a good 8 hours for me (when I first got them). I bought extra an charger to keep in my truck and would always have one charging. I'm not sure which 510 device you have, but I'd recommend getting an extra battery (or two) and maybe a charger you can bring with you at all times. It really sucks when you need to charge the battery and either don't have a charged battery ready or don't have a battery charger at all...

...and be careful with your nic strength. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say...

    nicotine headaches suck.
