I have zero leaks in my rta's.

Those include kayfun's, Tripod's, Dvarw's, Project X's, Doggy's, Bast*rd etc. etc..

In them I run DIY juices at 50pg/50vg, 40/60, 30/70 and 20/80.

The most common source of leaking is poor wicking. Not enough = leaks. Too much = dry hits.

A damaged or bad o-ring is another possible source of leaking.

Agreed.

Maybe I'm the godfather of wicking -which I'm most probably not- but I absolutely can't second that.
If you've got flavor and leaking issues with a vast majority of your RTAs, you should learn how to wick properly.
Sorry for my late reply. I was busy vaping on my collection of RDAs that costs more than everyone else in the thread combined has spent on vape gear, mods included. :hint: :hint: I don't have flavor and leaking issues with the vast majority of my RTAs. Please read my post before hitting the reply button. That's right... I don't buy them when I already know beforehand that they have leaking problems. I tested multiple dozens of them, and I do know how to wick properly. Reason they all slowly leak is because I wick them too loosely for how they have been designed. But I'm a flavor chaser so I always wick for maximizing on flavor performance, and do so with any and all of my atomizers, be it RDA or RTA, and, if that's not possible without it starting to leak, then the real culprit is that the manufacturers don't know how to properly design an RTA. Reload Vapor USA and Deathwish Modz know how to properly design an RTA. And, no, if the flavor performance of the Reload RTA and of the Isolation RTA was not right up there with the best of flavor chasing RDAs, then no, I would not be telling you that these are the RTAs that I own. You read that right. They are the ONLY ones that I own, because I don't like to waste my money on useless junk.

Or the inability to operate it properly.

None of our vaping devices are 100% leak-proof. Not even top airflow devices. If they were, we wouldn't be able to vape at all.
Thicker juices diminish the chances of leaking by quite a margin though.
All of my RDAs are 200% leak-proof. That's just because I possess the ability to operate things properly, and, you just evidenced the fact that you do not, as everyone who DOES have that ability already knows that vaping a flavor chasing RDA till it's almost dry before storing the mod in a pocket or bag is always (always, i.e., when talking about flavor chasing on an RDA, not stuffing in more cotton to make it hold more juice and still be able to get no leaking, at the sacrifice of flavor performance...) the one and only proper way to do it, which, clearly, you did not know, else I wouldn't need to explain it to you, but I did need to, so........

Have the doggie and have the True. Dont like them. Ive come to the conclusion MTL tanks arent for me. I am a mouth to exhale vaper. I think the subohm dtl tanks fit me better. I like the wide open airflow.
If you like a much airier vape another option to look at is the Dvarw DL. AF is 3mm.

The Dvarw MTL can be setup "airy" with the optional AFC kit (1.5/2.0/2.5mm). With the 2.5mm insert it is a pretty airy MTL to RDL.

I have a couple setup for a tighter MTL and a couple setup for a more airy MTL to RDL.

Dvarw's are pretty straight forward to build on. I've had zero issues.

Here are Vapdivrr's photos on wicking. Dvarw MTL RTA by Coppervape (clone)

No leaks + no dry hits = mediocre flavor performance at best, excepting with top performing flavor chasing RDAs and with an EXTREMELY limited number of RTAs.

Newsflash ......

Ok, maybe no one told you, so I will ...it's like this with vaping... what works for YOU is NOT the best or ONLY way nor does it offer the best for each Person.

Please learn to respect others AND how they do things.

You've clearly made your very opinionated opinions known. You know what they say about opinions.

You obviously ARE looking for someone ...anyone... to argue with. Won't find that with Me.

Grow :censored: Up Already!!!

Where in the post you quoted do you see me claim that this is the best or only way, or that it offers the best for each person? How does anything you wrote in your reply contribute to the discussion?

/I for the most part agree... that dripster agrees with dripster and NOBODY else. It's kinda like his best and worst quality in a way. When I read him, I think, "Less sympathetic more Robotic Anderson Cooper-- may be terminator in disguise."

I too, came across the mysterious project X again this evening as I was searching for things to coil with and I was like, "That looks compliated." Then I was like, "Woman you can do that on a day you do not feel like dying you don't even get to COIL today. I am re-coiling soon and I am guessing I will continue with my mediocre coiling, wicking and whatever else that seems to make me happy and keep me from smoking, but I can respect me as a human being.

LOL I will say when Dripster gets all "rigid" in that way he do, l think "OMG what if he was ever someone's SUERVISOR?????????????????????":lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The OP asked for people's advice. I gave her my advice. How does anything you wrote in your above reply contribute to the discussion about leaking?

I am sorry @dripster, if you don't understand the difference between opinion and what you do, at times, I just can't offer further exposition.

Also, I get tired of the ad hominem attack "I was just answering the question" which you do when cornered in your, ah, style of "opinion." Not gonna bite. Sorry. I really like and respect many of your posts and find them useful but there are times your style of ah, "offering an opinion" sometimes leans more toward the "Mein Kampf of Vaping" and it's not an enjoyable vape. The paper tastes terrible.

You figure it out, how I "answered the question." I will give you a tiny hint. There are opinions worth respect, they are thoughtful and measured and offer options. Were yours?

A bit of useless advice.
I got rid (completely!) of leaking when I switched recently to rayon. The one from bottles with pills (I wash it). Now I am making thick wicks with huge tails, they leave no space for leaking.
But I vape at 10 W, unflavored... Kayfun and Siren.

This may tamp down on whether I have wicked my tanks properly or not. Right now I am vaping on a Crown 2 with drop in coils. I didn't wick :censored:. Secondly, I lay my tanks down on their sides a lot. That causes the majority of the leaking. Before you say stop laying them down, I can't as I am laying down myself and there's no place to put it upright. Don't bother to give me grief about it. :danger:
All I wanted to know is if a thicker juice would help with leaking. You all ran with a broader discussion on leaking, alternative tanks and badmouthing each other. Not what I was after.

Reading parts of your post the song "Anticipation" came to mind, had to laugh. I'd like to have a definitive answer but I have exactly the same problem on my bottom feeders. I use 90 VG 10 H20 which has the thickness of 60 VG 40 PG so I told years ago in the DIY section. I ended up putting mine on a wash cloth much to the dismay of Mrs CMD.

I have a dedicated towel I lay my vape on. Lucky for me I dont have a Mr. Fiddleshe to get pissy with me. I am free to screw up my towel all by myself, but I'd rather not. Thus the post.

Understood, you are seeking a cure; I, on the other hand, just hunt for a band aide.
