way to go i hope it is that easy for my father i have been vaping for about 2 months now just over a month cigarette free and my father has been smoking for close to 50 years so in the next week or so i am going to set him up with some gear to give it a try i want to keep him around a little longer thanks so much for sharing with us, and welcome

My knowledge is extremely limited, but thinking about my case, I would say for me getting that 24 mg nicotine was very important! I am not sure I would have felt as good or as comfortable just on the 16-18 mg blucigs or Fins I got! I wish you both the best! I already can breathe better. I have copd and on oxygen at night. I was having to stop twice on my way from the bedroom to the kitchen in the morning......now I don't stop at all nor do I feel out of breath! It is great!

Welcome to the madhouse :) Be prepared for some interesting side-effects as your body heals from all the abuse it's been through...things like: being able to taste & smell things you've missed all these years, being able to walk up a flight of stairs without having to stop and catch your breath, finding new uses for all those ashtrays (finding out you've SMELLED like an ashtray all those years!) ...little things like that.

Been there...and never going back. My epiphany was getting ready to sell my house before moving to Florida, and taking down the drapes & washing them (I used to smoke in the house). I was shocked at all the brown/black water that came out of them. Then I started painting the walls -I was amazed that "off-white" looked like "brilliant-white" as I went along. Decided to quit that day....

Glad you're aboard, and strap yourself in for a great ride...it only gets better! :w00t:

thanks! I already can smell things better, Taste things better, breathe better, two of my family members said my voice is stronger on the phone.......I haven't yet been around a smoker. I have cigs here but don't want to light one. Scares me to death! I smelled some pillows etc but didn't notice anything but in time i will I am sure. two of us in there smoked all the time. Bought a new shade for one of the windows and had recently washed my kitchen walls and painted them WHITE! lol good thing I have quit......all my family thought it was a dumb idea at the time......saying they will be yellow soon........but not now! I never could understand why the smell bothered people so much but perhaps I will learn why soon LOL

Congrats!! It's great to hear another longtime smoker like me tell their tale! Started out same as you except I did want to quit... Thing was I hadn't really noticed I had until my wife told me she hadn't seen me with a cig in, like, 3 days after I started with e-cigs! It was that easy to just reach for my trusty Apollo e-cig than for a real one... Haven't touched an analog since 01.08.13!! :)

Yes I really enjoyed reading the long term smokers stories.....and was glad that so many had smoked as long as me cause it gave me, or gives me HOPE! It still befuddles my brain that I had not wanted to quit and I did anyway~~ congrats on your days free of tobacco~

You really summed it up. I was a 40+ year chain smoker and ordered my first kit more on a whim...never intended to quit, but my kids had kids and smoking was a no no. On the third day I was sitting with a strange look on my face and my wife of 37 years (also a heavy smoker) asked me what was wrong. Well nothing was wrong...I was just amazed at how well that little PV was working...I was speechless. Then she said "I want one, I want one". Now we are both non-smokers. They are truly a miracle. Enjoy the ride.

Thats awesome Sally. Same thing pretty much happened to me, just was going to try out the blu e-cig and never looked back. Amazing how we can go from worrying about when and where to have our next smoke to not missing them at all so quickly!! ;) You found the right place here, lots of great friendly people with tons of knowledge. Keep us up to date with your story.

Way to go Sally! I have smoked for 30 years and just switched to 100% vaping yesterday. It's not quite as easy for me to make the switch but hearing your story inspires me. Keep it up! My father (a 50 year hardcore smoker like you) has cut his smoking dramatically since I sent him a starter kit for valentines day. VAPE ON!
