Congrats to you, I only wish my dad could do the same but he just can't afford to right now. I'll keep on him though because I worry for my family and don't want them to get cancer someday. When I think about all the times people have died in house fires because they fell asleep with a lite cig in their hand it makes me so angry. It also sickens me why the FDA looks the other way on tabacco companies putting all those chemicals into cigs that cause disease. its just downright awful.

I had NO intentions of quitting. None! bought the device to maybe help me when kids come to visit as the smoke really bothers them.

Same here. I bought a Blu disposable while getting my usual carton of cigs. Mostly just out of curiosity having seen the ads right?

Sometime that evening, realized the pack of regular cigs had been in the living room the entire time I was working at the computer and I hadn't done my usual of moving them and nabbing a ashtray and all. Went to get the receipt and realized I hadn't smoked a regular cig in nine hours.

Just... forgot.

And I wasn't what you would call a "light" smoker either. It was just bizarre. I thought maybe I was having some kind of weird mental thing and just didn't remember smoking or something. :)

I haven't gotten completely away from the stink sticks yet (it's been a week and a half of the vaping thing) but my one and half to two pack a day habit fell off a cliff. I have maybe three cigs. Or two. A pack lasts a week now.

And as I learn more around here from all these experienced folks, I suspect the only reason I go for a "real one" now and then is I didn't know what I was doing and bought a kit I shouldn't and I need a higher level of nicotine. The kit I have is more for people that do maybe a half a pack a day. So I'm taking my first steps into filling my own cartos with higher nicotine content liquid later this week.

Not smoke free yet but I can see it from here.

I know what you mean about the shock. I tried everything. Gum, patches, cold turkey, Zyban... you name it. It was always a miserable experience and I always failed. Though once I made it most of a year. That was the one half decent attempt.

This was... just sort of... accidental. I didn't tell anybody in my family about it for a week. If nothing else, I didn't think anybody would believe me they'd seen me try to quit so many times in the last, yeesh, thirty something years? Also, I wasn't sure I believed me.

Cool ain't it? :)

Welcome to ECF. It's a fun place I'm finding. And just about any topic that has anything to do with vaping, somebody around here knows it inside and out...
