Check out what my co-host did. Now.. to make this viable, you'd have to be an RC guy (have lipos, chargers.. etc). He slapped a 3s 5000mAh to ciglight adapter, then to a passthrough.
The pack is really a 4s lipo, but the car adapter brings it down to 12v. Then the USB passthrough takes that down to 5v. A 3s lipo would also be fine at 12v of course. If you use a 4s, just be sure the car adapter can handle 14v in.
He also found out that the connections on the car adapter (+ and -), that only one side of the - actually works. The other - side isn't connected to anything.. but just for spring loading to hold it into the car.
We are getting together for a large event in Americas GA next month, and he will "Y" off the pack so we can both hit from it.
