. No Dr. Seuss post would be complete without a mention of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" Frankenstein's Monster himself, Boris Karloff, provided the voice of the Grinch and the narration for the movie. Seuss was a little wary of casting him because he thought his voice would be too scary for kids. If you're wondering why they sound a bit different, it's because the sound people went back to the Grinch's parts and removed all of the high tones in Karloff's voice. That's why the Grinch sounds so gravelly.

Tony the Tiger, AKA Thurl Ravenscroft, is the voice behind "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." He received no credit on screen, so Dr. Seuss wrote to columnists in every major U.S. newspaper to tell them exactly who had sung the song

Although they played a big part in Return of the Jedi, these creatures were never named in the film!

Ewoks were sentient, diminutive, furry bipeds native to the forest moon of Endor.

Ewoks were curious individuals that stood about one meter tall; they were omnivorous and used spears, slings, and knives as weapons; they also used hang gliders, battle wagons, and bordoks as vehicles.

They were quick learners, however, when exposed to advanced technology with simple mechanical processes and concepts they did not know how to operate them.

Ewoks are one of the creatures that have prevailed through the star wars era and pretty much even people who are not big star wars fans know about them.

What’s funny is that the word "Ewok" was never used during the entire filming of "The return of the Jedi" it was only used in the credits. You had to wait for the credits in order to know what they were!

Want to eat less snacks? Switch the hand you eat them with! This is why it works.

A psychologic study by the University of Southern Cal has found that subtle changes in the circumstances that you eat in affect how much you eat.

To prove that people munch out of habit, they first ran a study in which they gave people stale popcorn.

People who said that they were regular eaters of popcorn at the movies were a lot more likely to eat the stale popcorn than those who didn't.

Another interesting thing they found was that when people switched the hand they ate snacks with, from the dominant hand to the other one, they ate less snacks.

In this study, people who ate popcorn with their non-dominant hand were less likely to eat than the ones who did it with their dominant hand. Our only question is... What if you're ambidextrous?

Dutchman Wim "the Iceman" Hof is able to withstand temperatures cold enough to kill you.

In January 1999, Hof ran a half marathon 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle...barefoot! A mere three years later, wearing a normal swimsuit, "the Iceman" swam a distance of 80 meters beneath the ice at the North Pole.

He has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro wearing just a pair of shorts and set a world record by being immersed in ice for an hour and 44 minutes!

Scientists are baffled as to why Hof's body does not respond normally to extreme cold. Some speculate that an ancient Himalayan practice called 'Tummo,' in which the mind is said to generate body heat, may be the secret to Hof's success.

There is an ATM in Antarctica.

Actually, there are two machines, operated by Wells Fargo & Company. They are located in McMurdo Station, an American research center and Antarctica's largest community, capable of supporting up to 1,258 residents!

Since maintanence is performed only once every two years, one machine serves mainly as a backup. These were also the first ATM machines to become Y2K compliant (requiring a century indicator in the program and accounting for leap years). Technically, one could say that Wells Fargo manages the ATM banking for a whole continent!

The least populous territory in the world is home to only about 50 people.

Located in the southern Pacific Ocean, the Pitcaim Islands are a cluster of four volcanic islands whose total area is only about 18 square miles. The islands are a British territory and home to descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers and the Tahitians that accompanied them
