hey steve my 510 adaptor fell apart the center housing came out from so much tapping on it,the center i can not get working,now the center housing will not stay in the adaptor i tried emailing you, but i did get a reply,must be very back up, but i still need this to work,how should i go about this send it back so you guys can fix or replace it or what please tell me,,k9frog

LOL!! That's what my kids always thought when they were young. To them an engineer is a guy who drives a train!!
Boy was I mad when I picked that for my first major in college. Took me a semester to figure out why you needed to know so much math just to drive the train...
File a ticket with Casey. Although she must be swamped. I have 3 open tickets right now and a switch+juice packaged I ordered Saturday morning hasn't shipped yet. This never happens. I always get some reply out of Casey te same day or by next day.
I hope the replacement 510 adapter makes it in the mail today but not hopeful that she'll have gotten that far down the ticket queue to know some of us have completely failed adapters rather than limping along with the hammer-post fix.

my 901 was acting goofy so I popped the brass out of an extra V1 adapter I had and that fixed it.

lol ... Yup ... That center post is supposed to buldge the outter brass to stay within the stainless. The old aluminum adapters, we would simply press fit (center adapter didn't play much of a role) The problem is, stainless is harder than aluminum, so press fitting the way we used to really doesn't work anymore. We have been using this new way since the release of the Protege. Center post comes out - nothing to hold it in place anymore
Okay, this touches on the question I was asking in another thread. I think I understand it now. The center post, inserted in the brass adapter assembly and then that placed inside the cap. The pressure of the post pressing outward on the outer brass sleeve causes the assembly to stay inside the stainless cap. Yes? So, why did my adapter have a lose brass assembly, even though the center post was never removed? Malformed stainless cap?

That was my assumption too. It seems that the tolerances for these are very slim given that the interface is based on pressure alone.

Yeah, it sucks, don't it? To add insult to injury, my V1 has been acting flakey all week. It refuses to fire about 1/3 of the time. I just cleaned all the threads and it seems to be working better now, but I can't get that replacement adapter for the V2 fast enough.
Seriously, the fact my V1 is working well is the ONLY thing keeping me sane as V2 has been broken since Monday afternoon.
Just got my replacement adapter in the mail, man what a diff. Much more vapor then with the adapter that had the spinning brass piece in it.

Mine got here today too. Working like a champ now! The switch is a little stiff, but it's getting smoother with each activation.

Yes, it majorly sucks...
Still no reply on my ticket so Im still ojut my V2 but looks like they are getting sent out qwik....mine cant get here fast enough either Glad urs is back in action...I know Ill be just as happy when i get mine
