510 Atty's. I can't take it anymore.

I believe the last link is the video that was mentioned above. I just started doing what is shown in there about 2 days ago but I have done it to 5 atomizers now and they all put out thicker warmer vapor than they did brand new.

I drip exclusively and have only lost the one atomizer mentioned above in the last 4 months. All of the others still perform great. I use a ton of different brands and types of liquids but neither of the ones mentioned by the OP.

Removing the wick and the bridge do nothing but let the juice fall directly onto the coil. There is still wick running through the coil. This is where the juice becomes carbon and then you have a piece of charcoal wick running through the coil. I think the juice I use is the culprit. I have tried all cleaning methods including efferedent. NOTHING get break up that carbon rock. So now I have to change juices it seems which sucks because it took me a year to find a tobacco I like. Sick of spending money to try new ..... I just want one combo that works.

Why does everyone seem to think removing the bridge and wick along the bridge does something? It doesn't.

Word. Sucks that it's hit or miss. I rarely have an enjoyable vaping experience when all you do is think about every puff you take. Was that a good hit? Was this one good? Should I change atty's. I don't want to have to think. I just want to vape and concentrate on whatever I was thinking.

I LOVE TV Tobacco/Menthol, but it's taking a toll on both my 510 and 901 attys. Before I switched I vaped a lot of Vermont Vapor Cool Mint, and I could use the same atty for weeks between cleanings. Something about the tobacco based liquids is causing MAJOR build-up that just can't be removed successfully. The best I've come up with so far is a combination of soaking them in denture cleaner and using highping's atty resurrection method, but even if they survive the dry-burn they only last a short time before the vapor drops off again. I'm testing out some cartomizers now to see if they hold up any better, but as of now I've stopped using the TV Tobacco/Menthol in my regular attys because the cost has become prohibitive. I just can't afford losing 2-4 attys a week.

I'm on my last bottle of Tobacco/Menthol and planning my next move. I'll probably go back to JC Arctic Menthol or Vermont Vapor Cool Mint while I experiment with other juices. It's a crying shame too because I love the TV juice so much I wanted to keep it as my daily vape.

Well removing the bridge and wick has made quite a difference in the warmth and amount of vapor I have gotten over the last few days. The first atty I did it with is one I hadn't used in a couple weeks because it wasn't performing well even after using the above mentioned cleaning method. It is the one I have owned and used the longest and used my darkest liquids on. Once I removed the bridge and wick and did the above cleaning method again it got through the cleaning method and dry burn and back to the glow quicker than ever and performs better than new now. So it does make some difference even if it isn't one that will solve your problem.

I only posted to say what has worked for me.

Obviously it's either the different liquid that is causing the problem or you have just had one hell of a bad run of luck with attys. Either way I understand it is frustrating and really sucks.

Thanks for your experience my friend. I think I will clean my atty's every night in efferdent instead of waiting until they start to reduce vapor production. I am not going to give up on the juices I love - I mean why vape then right?

I definitely agree with the consensus regarding liquid variations making a lot of difference. All of my 510 atties have gone strong for at least a month and I do absolutely no cleaning save the occasional blow-out. By two months they usually taper off in vapor production. The only variable I can see is that I use Dekang tobacco flavors almost exclusively. That's not much help for those that like other flavors, though.

Yup can't blame ya there.

Another thing I forgot to mention above, just a minor one that I'm sure wouldn't make much difference, is that other than whichever atty I am using at any given moment, the rest are always stood on end on a papertowel. Once in awhile I'm quite amazed at the amount of liquid that seeps out onto the papertowel even after I thought I had vaped the atty dry.

Okay, I may need to take back what I said a few days ago. I had my first atty ever just totally die on me the other day. So I broke out a new one and it has me totally frustrated. I tried a stock cart with it for a couple of days and have been dripping it today. Now I am going through the following routine - drip 2 drops and it acts flooded, after a couple of drags its perfect for a few more drags and then starts tasting dry. It almost seems like there is no wicking whatsoever.

In short, this is a lousy atty right from the start.

i'm not liking my 510's atty at all. i dont know how to get up in the atty so i can see if the wick is ok or the bridge or anything inside it. i clean it, i prime it, no matter what, no giant clouds of vape, just weak vapor but also i have to huff and puff just to get it to work correctly. my Envy bliss works better now that i cleaned that, so im just ignoring my 510 until i figure out how to get inside that 510 atty to fix it.

Well, I should add. I vape heavily and use tasty vapor tobacco & Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured - so they MAY have something to do with it. I also drip, which may also be a contributing factor. Every case is different, but in my case, consistently over a year they don't last more than 2-3 days tops. Like I said, they don't die, they just clog.

I heard johnson creek dripping is an atty killer 8-o do you lose attys used only with TV? or is it when you use the johnson creek? or both? whats your PG/VG ratio?

Is the atty getting warm/hot, or is it a cold atty?

To see if the wick is ok, look inside the atty. If the wicking threads are frayed or blackened... remove the damaged wicking material with tweezers. If you have to remove all the wicking material use the atty for dripping only.
