So I've had my joye 510 for a couple weeks and I love it. The only thing I don't love is the battery life. I did some research and found this was a common complaint with any 510. I am looking into buying a batt with ext. Batt life. Not really sure if this is the best option. Is the ext batt worth it? Is it that much better than a standard 510 batt? Should I just buy a pcc? Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi Millah, I too am having the same experience as you, I got a 510, and a PCC, about a month ago and like everything about it, apart from the standard battery life. There are extended life batts, but I haven't tried them, I'm sure someone else will help you with this, but the reason I haven't is the extended life ones will not fit in my PCC, so it's a case of one or the other for me.

With the PCC, I always have a batt charging and one in use and it charges reasonably quickly so I can get by with what I have, actually find the evenings the hardest as I vape more then and occasionally will kill the second battery before the first finishes charging, hence my new order in for a Riva.

Hope some of that is useful... most vendors stock extended life batteries and PCC's so you can get either without much trouble.

510 mega xl batteries last 60% longer and there is a mega xl PCC (the mega xl PCC sold by VaporKings.com also includes an adapter so you can charge a standard 510 battery). I recommend manuals so they won't turn on by accident from wind or vibration and manuals are also much safer from getting killed by juices drips so you can use them for refilling cartos or for dripping without taking a chance of killing a battery.

For more charge than that, look at Riva 510 and Ego - they have fatter batteries that have at minimum more than double the life of the mega xl batteries

is that battery compatible with my joye 510??? the 1000mah ego?

Yes. All eGo and Tornado batts are 510 connections. Riva batts are mostly 510 connections. There is a Riva that has a 901 connection. If you get just a battery or two, you'll also need the eGo type charger and you can't charge regular 510 batts on that charger. You'll also want to get a cone. eGo's are really the best upgrade to the 510 - you go from an hour or hour and a half between charges to 6+ hours between charges (ymmv) with the regular 650mAh eGo batt. The Rivas are 750 mAh and there are 900, 1000, 1100, 1300 mAh batteries for either the eGo/Tornado or Rivas. The 1000+ ones are quite a bit longer and approach tube mod size. I like the 750 Special Edition Rivas because they're still good for @7 hours and have a true 3.7volts underload. The other ones have 3.1-3.2volts underload despite the fact that they're rated at 3.7v.
