I was testing out some of my shipment, and I was just wondering if the 510to901 adapter was supposed to have a few mm gap between the 510 battery and the adapter?

BTW, I haven't gotten to the 3.7v box mods yet, but I did go down to radio shack to try out some homemade 901 and 801 connectors i've been dying to try out. I forgot to get a 4xAA box from ya, but got one there and loaded it up with 4xAA. Both the 901 and 801 kick a whole lot like that. Should i be concerned about regular duracels sending me to see ?

[EDIT]: Ok, I screw the adaptor to the battery first, now the gap is on the 901 atty side and i can see the air holes. Is this right? Or should everything be flush?

Both the KR808D-1 and the DSE901 share the same threads. But the cartomizer needs a way to get air into the carto for the draw. Those are the holes you see. The 901 atomizer has its own air hole in the side of the atomizer body so doesn't need air holes. Put together that means some 510->901 adapters are really 510->808D-1 adapters instead. The air holes mean nothing to the 901 atomizer but its important to the 808D-1 carto. Which is also why the middle bit of the adapter moves a bit to help keep some space to help with the draw. All of which can be ignored when using the 901 atomizer.

Of course the opposite can happen too. You're looking to get a 510->808D-1 adapter but you get a 510->901 adapter and then can't draw any air through the cartomizer :(

Had that happen to me once, confused me until I realized there weren't any holes in the adapter. If I was a manufacturer I'd never make a 510->901 model just a 510->808D-1 so that could never happen.
