Hello,

I bought this 510 kit a while ago and it came with a charger etc... Later I got another 510 kit which is an eGo and I realize that you can't really charge batteries of other kits in eGo chargers. Does anybody know why this is? I do know a bit of electronics but I can't figure it. Is it that one is a positive tip and other negative tip?

I also noticed that the eGo atty and cartridge does not go well on the old battery either. They're both 280mAh so I don't know why there is such an incompatibility issue?

Any Ideas?

Cheers!

They're both 280mAh batteries apparently although I haven't put at meter to the eGo. I am confident the normal 510 is a 280mAh but I'm wondering if the seller hasn't ripped me off in saying it's 280mAh when it's not. I would like to think it was an honest sale...

An Ego battery is, at a minimum, 650 mah. I believe there are also 900, 1000, and 1100 mah versions. The standard Joye 510 is in fact 280 mah.

Mah's are the amount of power, juice that a battery can hold, therefore the more mah, the longer battery life you have.

So, if your Ego battery is 280 mah, well then yes, you did get ripped off.

Hmmm... I thought that in the box it said eGo. It's definitely a 510. Maybe I'm getting confused. It is not an eGO T. Strange thing about this is the centre contact is hollow rather than my others where the centre contact is full rather than looking like a ring. It don't really matter, I was just hoping that the chargers were compatible as they are both 510 and the charger I got for the original 510 is a box that shuts closed sized for a 180mAh so what I do when I charge my 280mAh I tape the cover so the 280mAh battery doesn't spring out and still gets a charge. The what I think is an eGo 510 and still thinking 280mAh has a screw in charger that plugs to the wall. Just would have saved me from faffing around with the tape to charge my old 280mAh battery.

From the post immediately above this what I am reading is you purchased a 510 PCC - a personal charging case. It is a metal box with a spring top that open like a pack of cigarettes?

If so they do usually come with the standard 180mah batteries in the starter kit.
And the other battery does not sound like and ego if it can fit in circumference into that box.
It sounds like a 510 but longer than the original. Sometimes what is called an XL 510.

Egos are to0 fat to fit in a PCC.

Yeah maybe I'm a bit new but I checked and the little leaflet thing in the ecig kit box says eGo. I thought this was just a brand name... Oh well, I'm not really having any issues. I just wanted to charge in my screw in charger the XL 280mAh battery that I had instead of my taped up PCC. It just doesn't charge. I'm forgetting whether I tried the USB. maybe I'll try that one and a usb plug and see what happens.

Cheers!
