OK so I am so psyched to buy my first e-cig. As far as I know, Luci is the only brand I can walk into a store tomorrow and buy, which would satisfy my super impulsive shopping compulsion. However, I have been reading here about the 510 and the Blu.

Which is the best?

Why? Or Why Not?

What is a good price to pay and where is the best place to buy my juice?

Are all cartridges refillable?

Thank you so much for your help.

I am not familiar with the Luci, but I've seen a lot of references to the Blu in a negative light. I've not heard anything negative really about the 510s -- some say they like others better, but I've not heard anything negative.

Well, actually... the only negative thing I've heard is battery life, which is solved if you get the PCC (the Blu comes with one, but again... have heard lots of yucky stories about the Blu).

Cignot has a great deal on the black and white colored 510s -- $35 for the starter kit. They also have a $65 starter kit that includes the PCC -- only $5 more than the Blu.

MyFreedomSmokes, with their 40% off coupon (code "smoke), might be a just slightly better deal than Cignot if you want the PCC and the starter kit together -- $41.97 for the starter kit, $19.17 for the PCC, so that's about $62 instead of $65. They also have the copper colored starter kits.

There are a few other websites if you want the other colors, but they are a bit more pricy.

I ordered my juice sampler from MyFreedomSmoke -- got a sampler of 6 10ml containers for $30, and they have 60ml containers for $26 when I find the flavor I like the best. But if you are wanting the Ecopure juice (the one that is VG and ethyl maltol and nicotine and flavor only, but doesn't come in a lot of flavors although you can add your own flavoring to their Fresh I think) Cignot is one of the few distributors of it in the US -- a 20ml bottle is $20. I've heard their English Toffee is good, and I will be trying it in the future.

I believe all cartridges for the 510s are refillable. I don't know about for the Blu.

You seem eager to get started (which I understand), but I'd like to offer you a friendly suggestion. Simply, take your time. If you're new to the pv scene (as I am), you owe it to yourself to do as much research as possible. There are many options to choose from and prices range drastically. I've seen some kits go for as much as $150 and then seen the exact same kit sold on a different site for $26. Yes, some people will really take you for a ride. From what I've seen, having the patience to order online is usually much cheaper than a store front, but there are exceptions.

If I were to limit my suggestions to just two, then they'd be:

1. Take the time to read through as many posts as you can in the "New Members Forum" (where this post is.)

2. Take the time to visit as many site as you can under the "ECF Approved Suppliers" forum. This will give you a much better idea on pricing and PV solutions.

It's very easy to let your enthusiam get in the way of your common sense. In the end, you'll save much more time and money than if you take the time to do the research. I've seen people give up on vaping simply because they took the wrong first steps.

First, welcome to the forum!:) I am not an expert as I am waiting for my first ecig order to arrive but I would like to tell you the best thing is to read, read and do some more reading. There is alot of wonderful information here. After I did all my research, I opted for the 510 as I have heard so many great things about it. But I also believe that this will be a voyage of discovery finding what works for you. If you opt for a 510, I would purchase it from Cignot. They seem to have the best feedback and after placing my order, it shipped out in less than 2 hours! Cartridges can come prefilled, but if you ask, most everyone will opt for empties so they can refill it themselves. More options of flavors this way as well. There are so many options for juice it is crazy! :hubba: I think from what I have read most people will say for juice, they like Totally Wicked, My Freedom Smokes and really there are just too many to list. But those two are a good start and many levels of nicotine as well. You can also check out the Sponsoring Suppliers list at the top of the page.

Again, good luck on your journey and Welcome. :D

Hi Miss BG & Welcome ...

Sorry, I know nothing about the Luci or the Blu ... everybody on here says don't buy at the mall or the "as advertised on radio or tv"

I read this forum for a week - until my eyes were square! I decide to get the KR808D-1 or the Joye 510. There is so much information on here about the 510 that I would call it "The Standard"

I bought my 510 from Cignot in Chicago - it was the most positive buying experience I have ever had. It was in my mailbox in 48 hours. The starter kit is $35 + $5 S/H. Add some juice, extra cartridges, mega-batteries (you will need supplies) and get free S/H with a $59 order. I really like mine!

RockyMountainVapor is actually in Michigan ... they are great, too ... has good juices, free S/H & you'll have it in 48 hours, as well.

Yes, the cartridges are easily refillable ... you get 5 free in the kit that are pre-filled and you "top 'em off" with the dropper bottle that the liquid come in. You can also buy blank ones and DIY all the way. Tons of info on here - fillers: foam, tea bags, etc. - make up your own combinations!

Best of Luck to you! :)

I would go with the 510 as a noob! I just got mine today, killer PV and i bought my first PV a week or two ago (402 clone) it was good but the 510 is amazing compared.

I wish i would have got the 510 first.

Cignot.com $35 for the two cig kit. I got mine in 3 days and just now ordered two PCC's and 3 atomizers.

I was so against the 510 and everyone ranted an raved about them and i figured it was all BS. Nope! they are really that rad.

Go for a 510 and if you hate it post it on the classifieds on here and one of us will snag it in about 10 min. ha.

best of luck!:p

I too am fairly new to vaping. I did allot of reasearch and had eventually purchased the Blu, mostly because of the handy recharge/storage pack it comes with. It's the same size as a regular pack of smokes. I also purchased the Janty eGo purely due to it's positive reviews and long battery life. However, now knowing what I know, although I am quite happy with my Blu, I think I would have been happier with the 510, and you can get a recharge case for it as well. Personally, you can't lose with the 510, I would start with that and eventually try something else. At the costs I used to spend on analogs, approx $180/per month, heck,, buy a few different types and your'e still ahead..

I'm affraid shelman1234 is not correct there. There are by now two or three other manufacturers of 510s, and the difference can be hard to spot. The original is the Joye 510, and I'd definitely try to get that one.

Can't say much about US suppliers, but Cignot has, according to many posts here, the Joye 510. (So, of course, have others.)

I got my first pv yesterday, after reading lots of reviews i went for the mega titan 510. This was mainly because the only fault others found with the 510 was battery life and the mega version has a larger battery. I've been puffing on this thing almost nonstop(except sleeping) since the first charge and the battery is still going strong. Very happy with the buy though i can't compare it to any others as i'm a true noob.:D

good luck, though you might not need it these things are great!

I have not tried too many different styles but of the ones I have tried the 510 is my fav.

I don't think you can go too wrong with that one.

The battery life is bad but you if you are going to use it to replace tobacco then you really need that big hit and vapor production to get you through the rough patches.

My first order from cignot was for two of the $35 starter kits and a few bottles of liquids.

With four 510s in rotation you don't need to worry about battery life as much.

Also once again if you are replacing tobacco be sure to buy at least one high mg liquid like a 25mg or a 36mg it will really help when you feel like going out to get a pack of smokes or if you hang out with your friends that still smoke.

You all are great for your information. I love the convenience of Luci being right in the mall and think the Blu looks cool, but it sounds like performance wise, the 510 will probably be the right choice. I think I will go ahead and order that one. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read my post and offer information!

FYI.....I think the Luci and the Blu are the same model (L88B). And, yes the cartridges are refillable. I have 2 Blu's and although disappointed at first, have been fairly happy with them since refilling the cartridges myself. On that note, I have read ALOT of reviews regarding the 510 (almost all positive), and will more than likely be ordering one as well just to see what all the fuss is about.

I would suggest before making a purchase to browse through the forum topics and research your options, as there are many.

Good Luck and Happy Vaping!
