Hey

I've read up about the straw mod and the amazing results everyone gets from it. I tried it and didn't notice an awful lot of difference so figure its me thats doing something wrong.

I get a cotton bud - cut it so its about 1mm below the top of the cart, cut the corner at the bottom at 45degrees and place in cart next to the filler.

I make sure I don't fill liquid above the "straw" and vape away but don't get much more time before I need to top up and don't seem to be able to get any more drops in than normal.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ?!!

If everyone is doing these mods - why don't they just make the carts with some kind of built in straw mod

Lurch, did you take a small amount of the filler away when you did the mod? I mean just a small part, maybe a tenth or so...I found it made a small difference -Compacting the filling lessens airflow and reduces it's capacity to hold more juice

I still have to top off mind, but I believe it is still better performance than the stock cart.

Oh, spring mod (I need to try this myself) also check out Kristin's version of this which uses a straw (but not like we would use it in a straw mod).

I didn't take any filler away - I wrongly thought taking away would reduce capacity !!! I seem to get a good vape when I start (remove filler, add 10 drops, put in filler, add another 3) but when I top up, only takes 3 and full.

Don't mind so much if I'm home vaping, but if I'm out its not convenient to keep topping up every 20 minutes.

Will try the mod and take some filler away. My only concern is if I'm out and a little drunk, it'll be too much hassle to keep topping up and I'll end up just buying a pack of analogs

That's a valid concern actually, I've been thinking that with crimbo and new year coming up, it could be a bit of a hassle if I end up going out and drinking...I don't fancy dicking around with my carts and whatever when I've had a few scoops. :)

I'm considering getting one of those cartomizer kits for nights out, I'd rather pay out for one of them than end up smoking again.

You always make me feel like such a newbie - WTF is a cartomizer ?!!

I did the spring mod last night and racked up 3 carts for today with springs. So far so good, still on the first cart and its vaping much more than it normally would by now. Gave up on the straw mod, felt like I was missing something somewhere but straight away I'm noticing results with this one.

Still don't know why the chinese don't read these forums and take note!!!

Thats impressive I will need to look at that. I love the 510 vape and have loads sat here but gave up on them after getting fed up with titchy carts that didnt work and the rubbish dripping performance.

Cartomizers are impressing me. 10 hours on one yeasterday. Today I have had one in since 7am and its still going strong :)
