sorry for the rant... it's just been one of those days and now thanks to super slow shipping i'm almost out of liquid!!! (won't make that mistake again either!)

I wouldn't be anxious about Chinese liquid. From my experience, it's all garbage.

Sorry to put a damper on your expectation, but please do a search on the forum to get some decent liquid:

I find the liquid I order from China to be really nice, Cappuccino & chocolate are fanstatic.
But I suppose it comes down to personal preference.

Cheers

Yes, and that is what I will do. When Scottbee sends me a properly working 510, I will be glad to do another review. And I will (somewhat reluctantly) reverse my position if I am wrong.

Rick.

I'm just a newbie and have yet to get my kit so really I know zero for me to agree or disagree but i do have to ask..

Is there ANYTHING you do like?

If the disposable 510s being sold now are typical for the 510, I wholeheartedly agree they are not that great. I have been using this thing off and on for a few days and not getting the reason the 510 is so popular.
Compared to my M401 there is good vapor, but little if any throat hit and not a great taste on my usual juice. If someone can tell me how the disposable matches up with the regular 510, please let me know. I've read regular 510 users rank the new disposable right up there with 510 quality.

I've got one on the way that should be here tomorrow and is coming from the same place you got yours. I'll try and remember to comment back here after trying it.

I know a lot of people would prefer having carts but have you tried just dripping on it and seeing how you liked that?

I actually only ever drip on my 510s. I enjoy it that way and I'm to lazy to bother with all these cart mods.

im still a novice vapor but i love my 510 i started with a foreign 901 that sucked got a better atty started liking it, then i moved up to the famous 510 with a foreign atty i was ...... the vapor was crappy so i asked around problem was my atty got a new atty vapes like a champ, my only complaint is the battery life. so if you think it sucks get a better atty or get a bigger batt for it then youll love your 510.

Yes, analogs. But I know they would eventually kill me. My Dad died from analogs.

So I'm leaving no stone unturned in my search for an e-cig that will work for me. Really, I don't even care if I like it or not. This is way more important than pleasure. If I could find an e-cig that released the claws in my chest, even if I got no pleasure from it, I would be a happy camper. Enjoyment would be an added bonus, but it's not the main thing!

Rick.

There are so many 510 semi-clones and disposables being made that without knowing which clone or which 510 those 'regular 510 users' were comparing it to, these appraisals have no value. This is a Joye thread. It is the Joye 510 with it's power hungry low ohm atty that set the bar for TH and vapor. When I decided to see what the '510' was all about I got some authentic Joye atties. I can tell you there is a huge difference between it and a Smoore M401 (and there are also 401 clones). With a low voltage device like the M401 there is a bit more flavor on some juices, but TH and vapor does not compare. There seems to be a lot of Dekang 510 disposables floating around, someday I'll try one.

Wow, what a great thread. I also have yet to receive my dual 501 starter kit from PEC, but I'm waiting like a dog in the front yard, just waiting for the mailman.

I like what the guy said in a prior post (#98 I think), that I may need to get off the analogs before I can really experience the flavors of the e-juice. Throat hit will be important though, I hope Terry's PG/VG blends will do the job.

That doesn't seem to be a Joye product, probably some over priced cheaper clone.

I like the 510.
Great Vapes and hits.
YES the batteries SUX.
Im using the MEGA Batts and they STICK.
Sometimes they have remained ON after Pull Session.
No light just FRYING away, so could be dangerous if not checked after.
I have ordered more kits as it was better than buying parts.

Been Tabacco free since 8-2009
Even when Im crushing Cans the 510 gives what it takes.

Are you using the Mega batteries from StrictyEjuice? If so.... there's your problem right there.

I've not had a single issue with sticking with my TW mega batts, which are Joye rebranded as Titan. 100% reliable so far for me, but rather expensive without a discount sale, and no warranty on bulk packs, so knock wood. I'm rotating 4 of the 10 I have.

I have to give Rick a lot of props for sticking to his guns in the face of a lot of criticism.

Since part 1 of the problem is bad equipment, which will be fixed, we now move to part 2 of his problem.

Lack of fulfillment with the e-cig.

It won't be the first or the last time that someone on the board finds that e-cigs can't satisfy the smoking addiction and replace the satisfaction one gets from smoking. That's why we have members that use mods and snus. Some use patches and e-cigs. Some vape 48mg.

While the 510 has been a lifesaver for many in community, the thread title did make me look along with a lot of other people on the forum, and Rick is ultimately getting his answers.

That's the important thing.

Different strokes, different folks. So far I've tried a pen-style, super-mini, something generic from Amazon, M401 and 510.

I know the "claw" feeling all too well. Ever see someone do ....... and scramble for more a short while later? I think it might feel like that. Pure fight/flight panic. There isn't enough nicotine/vapor to make it go away.

I was able to smoke my last analog just a few days after starting vaping but it was not easy. It took over two weeks before that panicky feeling went away. Seven months later I still get it on occasion.

At the time I knew there was something in analogs making me crave them and it wasn't nicotine. That fact (and the COPD I recently found out I have) scared me enough to stay off analogs even though I craved them terribly.

I've never found any e-cig that was 100% reliable but I've bought enough parts to keep a couple running while the rest of them are on standby. Personally, I'm okay with the manual 510 but I like dipping over dripping. I wish the atty was the exposed kind like a 401.

I hope you find a model that works for you. Best of luck.
