510 LR attys -Bad Batch?

Anyone else having trouble with LR 510 attys?

I stocked up on a bunch of LR 510 attys from one of our oldest suppliers thinking I'd be good if there was a ban and just for the warm fuzzy. Price was pretty good - $8.49 ea or 5 for $7.99. Rated at 1.8 Ohm. No brand name mentioned on the site - not SLB or Joye. I went through all 6 of them in under 6 days .

Thinking it was me or my SB or eGo killing them, I ordered several more SLB branded LR 510's from 2 of our other vendors and these are just fine. I dont really want to mention the vendor in question as I am still awaiting his response-(48 hrs now) If I hear nothing, I will update this. As of now, I'm trying to be fair. I know they are sold only with a non DOA warranty, I only want to find out if others are having problems.

These didn't pop, they just quickly started going cold. They didn't last long enough to get gunked up or need cleaning. They were good for an hour or so, then started to go down hill till they went stone cold in under 24 hrs.

I know LR's have a short life span, but 24 hrs or less at 3.7V is ridiculous and expensive.

Anyone else having a premature death rate?

I bought one. Loved the thing but it was dead in less than 24 hours. I'll just stick with my regular ol' attys. If I absolutely can't live without the vapor and warmer hit, I'll invest in a 5V mod (probably be cheaper than the LR attys in the long run).

LRs are really sensitive to voltage - I recommend 3.7V or less.

I've been blasting away at 6V on the GGTS but kept hearing how great everything was with the LR atties. I ordered 6 510s and a new 3.7 mod and was planning to use an 18650 in the GGTS with 2 LR 901s that I got from the same place. I fully charged my new batteries plugged on the LR 510 hit a comfortable chair and blew the chit outta the atty in less than a good drag. I'm thinking it's obviously a bad atty and plug another on...It's nice till later that evening when it too blew. I'm on the 4th 510. I drip only, keep it wet and don't drip it hot...4 atties in less than a week????? Meanwhile 2 weeks later the 901 is still spewing vapor. The supplier promised me 3 free on my next order but I played e-mail tag and had to tell him the same thing numerous times as he tried to squirrel outta it with numerous possibilities for the atty failure...Like I said the LR901 is still going and I've treated it no differently. I'll order from him again as he has something else I want to get. I'll try the 3 replacements before I order more from him. I was wondering if anyone else was telling him the same thing about his attties. I'd read several really good reviews about them. I won't push him in the fire as long as he keeps his word but at this point I must conclude that his 510LRs SUCK!!

Wow, that really sucks. I hope the vendor is able to rectify this problem for you. I've been reading alot lately about some bad lr 510 atties lately. I feel lucky, I bought just one and it's great. I just ordered it from a place that happened to have a 510 PT in stock. Most vendors I was checking were out. So when I found a PT, they happen to have a lr atty, so I ordered it.

My first 1.5 ohm atty (running off an eGo at 3.7 v or so) only lasted 9 days. Normally my atty's last 4 to 12 weeks.

However, I noticed that it went out when my fluid was almost dry. Not really totally dry, but very close.

I'm now at 10 days on the second one and no problem. I am just making sure that it doesn't even come close to drying out. Maybe that's the secret.

In any case, I'd even settle for 9 days because the vapor is so much better than with a standard atty !

Mine lasted a few hours and then nothing, not even a slow down...just dead. I will stick with regular ones from now on.

I got a bad batch of SLB's early on - all but one are gone. The ones from TW and heaven gifts (both Joyes) are doing well. Same old story for me.... I don't have any interest in Joye but wish I did ;-) Are they traded on any exchange?

I've only got one, from TW. I guess I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks and it's doing fine so far.

EM LR's are great!! been vaping on 2 of them for almost a month now and they still kicking.

Sometimes I have to give the at ties a jolt with 6v but usually
Lower performance just means batteries need recharge.

There does seem to be some ‘no name’ LR attys from at least one vendor that are not good. As I said, I know they have a limited life span. But, less than a 24hrs life span is a bit much - 6 in 5 days?
To add insult to injury is the lack of response from the vendor. I’m not expecting replacement’s, these are sold with only a 24hr non DOA warranty, most attys are. But these thing turned to crap sometimes within an hour. I really expected some kind of response from the vendor, even a “sorry, too bad” response would have helped.
I love LR attys, the ones I have purchased from VaporKings and Ikenvape are great, they are branded SLB’s.

The recent generic ones from the home of my beloved SB seem to be crap.

I've killed 5 - one recent an SLB from Ikenvape, btw... And there's been no gradient loss of performance on the ones that died. All went in a snap of the finger. ;-) And a few from inattention but the others just went on focused vaping. Also lost one 801 LR on a Chameleon. The 801's I have on the JS V3's are really good and as I've pointed out, not as hot as the 510s at the same ohm? ...perhaps 'mass' is a factor? Scott likely knows.

All 510's from H.Gifts are still going strong, but on eGo's and megas, not on the bartlebys or Protege. I just dripped 9 drops right on the atty on a mega eGo and it fired right up with the slightest of gurgling. And no leaks! I don't hold them vertical for long though after dripping that much.

i've got a half dz of the atties in question and i'm on my third which is still going in 5 weeks time .

i'm using them in my BB with high drain batteries . and that is my work carry around vape .

it might be the extra ooomph from your 18650's

My experience with the LR atty. I got one just to try from HG and it is still going
strong on its third week. The other came from Ikenvape and it went cold in less than
24 hours. It worked great and then nothing.

Ordered 20 LR attys from EastMall, China...for $3.00 a piece...Received them here in Ohio in one week...Fast, especially from China...They last between 7-10 days for me...But, worth it because of the greater TH and vapor....and for $3.00 an atty...that is less then a pack of analogs...way less....
So far, so good with these LR...will order again in a few months when I need more...

Ordered 20 LR attys from EastMall, China...for $3.00 a piece...Received them here in Ohio in one week...Fast, especially from China...They last between 7-10 days for me...But, worth it because of the greater TH and vapor....and for $3.00 an atty...that is less then a pack of analogs...way less....
So far, so good with these LR...will order again in a few months when I need more...

I agree. It's a good trade off! Brought my mega batts up to mod level almost ;-)

I received 6 of the atties in question last week. I also received 2 LR 901s to try the GGTS w/18650 @ 3.7 instead of its usual 6V. Thought it may bring on a little more flavor at 3.7...It's fine and still on the same LR901 I started with. The atties in question??? The first lasted a whopping 30 seconds, the 2nd died cold 2 hours later, 3rd a whole 2 days, 4th I'm rolling with it 3 days...it's getting better 3 whole days...the fifth though on about a day now does little in the way of vapor production...pitiful actually....All were blown on a Black Bullet with a 14500 so it's not IBM's 18650. 14500s also tested well within range. I did have excellent response when I complained and was promised 3 free on my next order. 4 blown in a week and the 5th not worth vaping has left me with little faith in these atties. They were only providing about 50% of my daily vape. They haven't been hit dry or dripped when hot. The original LR901 is still rolling...5 LR 510s cold. I'm gonna get back with the seller and hopefully get this worked out but at this point I'll never order a LR 510 from there again.

Good to hear ...... just ordered 50 of them from EM. Started reading this thread and got that concerned feeling. I was hoping to get a week out of one and anything more call a bonus. Thanks.
