Well all, this is my first real mod. No battery box or USB PT yet, but a nice little PCC mod.
To give credit where credit is due, I stole the idea from Woooozzaa. Here is the link to his original mod: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/canadian-members/28851-custom-510-pcc.html
Thanks Woooozzaa, you rock!
So I started dripping very soon after I started to vape, and dangit, I'm sick and tired of carrying my dropper bottle around in my pocket! I had a beautiful blue PCC with two cartridge slots I really didn't need, so I thought "why not get rid of them". I wish I had thought to take pics while I was doing this, but I was too deep in mod-mode. I'm thinking about making another one, with cleaner cuts and sanding... If I do, I will take pics and post them.
Enough talking, on with the mod!
I opened 'er up and used a hacksaw to cut the PCC insert between the two middle holes (atomizer and cart holes). This cut went straight down. Then another cut from the left side over to the bottom of the first. This basically got rid of the entire upper left corner of the insert.
Then I used sticky back felt to make a nice little box-like area. Now another problem became apparent: I was now missing the middle hole that held an atty and cart assembled. This wouldn't do! So I took my trusty drill, a 5/8 bit, and bored out the bottom of the right (remaining) cart hole. Then I shoved the rubbery cap from a 510 cart down into the hole, all the way to the bottom (after cutting it down a little). This gives the atty threads somewhere to rest and also provides a little springiness to hold it against the lid. I hate rattling in my PCC.
The bottle I used is a 3mL dropper that originally had Ecopure in it. Perfect size for me, as I go through about .5 to 1 mL a day. I also wrapped it in a little felt, to make it fit nice and snug in the "box". Again, no rattling.
I also had to cut down the left screw so it wouldn't poke the bottle. As anyone who has taken apart a 510 PCC knows, these screws, well, suck. This is why I don't want to take it apart again for pics.
So all that said, attached are some pics of the finished mod. First is fully loaded. Next is a close-up of the new "box". Last, my little felt-wrapped bottle.
Whew, that was wordy, eh? To all those who read it all, thanks for sticking around! I am really proud of this, as you can prolly tell. Any suggestions on bettering this idea, please shout 'em out!
