Hey Guys,

I got a few packs of smart carts in from CdnVapor, and I put them on my ego with an LR510 on it.

Grabbed my ...... kit (syringe and needle), and filled up the cart. Tossed it together and started vaping. It gave me some really good flavor, and some good flavor.

Then I started looking through the little holes in the side so you can see how much liquid is left, and I started seeing bubble after bubble rising to the top.

Needless to say, it leaked out pretty much the full .9ml.

The only thing I can think that would've been my fault would be using a metal needle instead of a small plastic one (which I was out of). But I was very careful to put it down the side, and I didn't see any holes.

Anyone know of a good way to fill these bad boys up? Or anyone had success with them?

edit: lol @ good flavor and good flavor .... I meant vapor...

Wow.. I bought a pack of them from same place and they all work fine (all 5)

edit: I'm using around a 70/30 pg/vg mix

I filled them up with a blunt metal needle as well, poked it down the side and filled up until it hit the filler plug. Then I put a couple on top to soak it.

I've maybe had a little leaking if it's full and I leave it to sit in the atty for a couple hours (will leak a bit out the bottom). If i'm using it though I haven't noticed any leaking.

Really no issues to mention though. Certainly never leaked out all or even half of a cart... Maybe the needle made too much of a hole on the side? Perhaps try pushing the filler over with the needle after you've filled it up?

I ordered these too, and am having serious leaking issues, as well. Until your post, I thought I was alone...the majority of feedback I've read has been positive. I've been trying to make them work and haven't succeeded yet. They sure are a great idea, in theory.

I've tried to replace the filler with fluval. It helps, but I still get leakage.

One person on ECF suggested to take the "bridge" and filler out entirely, and fill with foam, but that kinda defeats the purpose. I have wondered if my attys are to blame somehow, but they perform fine with regular carts, so....???

If you get this worked out, I would love to know what you did.

EDIT: I did make sure the filler was "fluffed out" again, and that it was completely seated in the attys...I've been doing A LOT of surfing and asking around re: this issue and haven't reached smartcart nirvana yet.

Yea, clipper, I'm not sure what's going on, my juice is definitely 100% PG so I might try some BWB tonight (20% VG) and see if I get any better performance, and I will make sure that the filler is fluffed out.

I'm not one to try changing the filler to something that works. If there is something better than it should be filled with it before it gets to me :p

I found carts to be a mess and a half in terms of leakage onto the battery. No matter how much I tried to not get juice in the middle, I still found juice leaked all over the top contact on the battery.

That;s because you never mastered the technique, and two, the smart carts will not solve the problem.

Hey guys,

This video from BlueprintDK covers some of these topics

6:18 and on is about the Smart Carts in specific and he had leakage problems as well. I think it was a 901 for him though.

I would be interested in trying them simply because I am so tired of dripping while I am on the go. I've wanted a cartomizer that works and works well enough to have a proper vape while I am out and about but these might be precisely what I'm looking for.

Yep Switched I do notice the flavour is lost a bit as I find with any sort of cart set up compared to dripping. My real beef with carts at the time was I would always either be leaking after modding them, or it just wouldn't wick after a few pulls.

However my vaping "arsenal" sort of fits my situations...

If i'm at home/work I will use my mods and drip

If i'm going to be in the car for some general errands i'll take the Ali'i bottom feeder

If i'm going to a bar or other busy public place, I really don't like the hassle and questions my mods attract (I already look like i'm up to no good as is...), so in those situations i'll usually just load up an ego-tank or if I really want to have an easier explanation i'll bring a couple small 510 batts and use the smart carts. People recognize that as an e-cig much quicker. Sure you sacrifice some throat hit and flavour but in that situation, I don't mind not having to explain that it's not for drugs.

I don't really have the time to play around modding things to make them work better.. i'd rather let someone else do the work and sell it to me frankly.

Here were my thoughts on what could be better on these....

#1 lets make the bridge (plastic O ring that keeps the poly in place) a part of the cartridge rather than having it balance there. The bridge on the cart will come loose and float into the tank if you even look at it sideways when refilling with a syringe.

#2 having to refill from the polyfill end is a pain, it means pushing the filler to the side and having to readjust it again when finished to keep the seal and prevent dumpage on the atty. Being able to refill from the mouthpiece end would be much better, maybe a plug can be removed to allow dripping rather than carrying a needle.

#3 the plastic used in these carts is way too fragile, all my carts have cracks throughout them from the stress that is required to insert and remove them (i have had these for 2 days). The plastic used in the standard 510 cartridge would work much better and last longer where it stands up to twisting much better than the compound used in the smart carts

#4 They need to make them a bit smaller in diameter, these are a really tight fit and would eliminate problem #3

#5 Im not sure im comfortable with the polyfill being glued in there, glue and e-liquid do not go together, lets keep the carts glue free for obvious reasons.

Allen from cdnvapor.com is gathering suggestions that he will relay to the manufacturer, so maybe things will turn around.
