I asked Dave what size o-ring I could buy at my local hardware shop to replace the ones on my stainless steel 510 T-Tips, so here's the info in case anyone is interested:
Here's the exact one Dave mentioned:
Brand: Danco
Size: #47 (7/32" I.D. (11/32" O.D.) x 1/16' Wall)
You can buy online here
The container will look like this. Same plastic case, but filled with o-rings, not the white plastic thing in the pic:
Sadly, my local Home Depot didn't have Danco #47. I went to Lowe's and they had:
Brand: BrassCraft
Size: SC0577 (7/32" I.D. (11/32" O.D.) x 1/16' Wall)
You can buy online here
Here's what it looks like:
The BrassCraft fits perfect, and I got 2 rings in that pack for about 60 cents at Lowe's. If you can't find these brands, just go with the size information.
Tip: If you look closely at the o-ring on your T-Tips, you might notice a little 'shearing' where bits of the rubber have been cut off. This happens when you push the tip into the atty quickly, and you usually hear that satisfying 'click'. You can avoid this by pushing the tip into the atty a little slower/softer, which lets the o-ring 'give/adjust' as it's pressed in. Any bits of rubber that have been sheered off probably have no effect on the seal between the tip and the atty, as it always seems snug.
Happy vaping!
