Everything has been going good for about a week. But I recently am having a problem with my atomizer, It will run dry only after a few seconds of drawing on it, then it has a burnt wick taste. I also noticed when I screw in the atomizer to the battery it do not always come on. I'm not sure what this could be, maybe a clogged atty ? My tanks are full so I have enough liquids but it just seems like the atty isn't drawing the liquid fast enough. And all my connections are clean. I have two atty's and the other one works fine. Any help is very welcome.

Its a normal tank that you snap down into the atomizer, the atomizer has a spike that pierces the tank and allows liquid to flow down to the wick. The wick is surrounded by a coil that heats up and produces vapor. The wick and coil is part of the atomizer. I read somewhere on here that soaking the atty in voka can clean it and unclog it so I might try that sometime soon.

JDentaGirl Did you ever fix the problem, if you did how did you ?

two things come to mind one your atty is just about spent and defiantly at least needs a good washing, and two you have probably been filling it up and leaving the burnt and thick left overs in the tank when you fill it and and its starting to build up ill usually leave the first tank of leftovers in there when i top off but the second time around i dump the last 10% of liquid from the tank before filling again so i dont gunk up the atty and get bad flavor as fast.

Good advise, I'll remember that. Its been a week since I got my kit, I wouldn't think the atty would go bad so soon. It still produces vapor but after about 4 secs the crackling of liquid stops and I get that awful taste of wick or something. Its like the liquid can't soak the wick fast enough, and I have tried taking slow hits and hard hits but it still dosent matter.

yea the wick clogs up pretty fast if you use the tanks up to the very last drops or keep refilling on top of the old juice, keep in mind its using a wick and wicks act as a filter as the juice travels up the wick the larger particles(usually flavoring) get stuck in the wicking material over time the wicks get clogged up,also keep in mind that some of those particles will drip back down the wick and back into the juice making it thicker and thicker and increasing the amount of big particles floating around in your liquid, this is why i suggest to dump the last of the tanks before filling again.

you can get a little more time out of your attys depending on what kind they are most i just boil in some deionized water for 5 minutes (just the atomizer head) and let dry before using, some people prefer to use alcohol(dont boil it lol)and soak there attys for an hour or so and then rinse in water,i tried it once but didnt like the idea of using something i wouldn't trust vaping to wash my attys.

Thanks, I just used vodka and soaked them for 15min, then dried them with a blowdryer. The wicks turned white again like new, but the problem remains that after about 4 or 5 secs of drawing on it the flavor turns into an almost waxy like gucky taste. I guess its the wick, and I also heard to get liquid into the wick you can draw hard on it without it being on. I tried this and it works, it lasts longer but I keep having to draw on it without it on to get liquid down into the wick for longer draws. I'm not sure whats going on and I havent had this problem until today. Its almost like the atomizer cant draw liquid very good on its own, I keep having to prime it by drawing on it before using it. Weird huh ?

not really that weird the wicks are only good for about a week of use specially if you recycled liquid alot during its use, the boiling realy helps break up the clogged stuff because it forces air bubbles through the wick making the gunk come loose, the alcohol just kind of bleaches the gunk and then dries it out and leaves some junk in the wicks leaving them still a little clogged better then nothing but not my preferred way to clean them.
you should look into getting yourself a vivi nova atty they are very popular these days and work pretty well and are easily cleaned and rebuilt, and replacement heads are pretty cheep for them.

Is the vivi nova atty well built and does it last longer then a normal atty ? Is it compatible with a 510 tank ? This morning I soaked the wicks by priming the wicks and blowing the liquid throw. They are working again and not giving me that taste. I'm also wondering if I may have a better time getting a direct drip tip atty. When I'm at home I could direct drip and save my tank atty's. And when I go out I can use my tank atty's on the go, Is this a good idea ?
