I started out using a 510 from cignot but got sick of the hassles involved with it (because i like to smoke the most in the car and it became quite dangerous to keep topping off carts while driving). I bought a Kr808 from Vapor4life and couldn't be happier. Recently went on the cignot site and saw that they now have and Ego510 batt. The reviews rave about the batt life and that is one of my major problems.

I am fairly new to all this. I know that they have converters so that you can vape on a 510 using 808 cartomizers. So just wondering, if i bought the ego battery and a converter of some sort (don't know where i would get one of these?) could i vape on cartomizers? Does the converter damage or reduce taste in any way? Anyone ever tried this?

Well, as a relatively new vaper myself, I had the same question. I got my 510 mega battery kit from MadVapes. I didn't know there were 510 cartomizers out there, so I got the 808 adapter and some cartos from Vapor4Life. They tasted OK, but for me, produced almost no vapor. I would suggest using the eGo w/ 510 cartomizers if the eGo ends up being your new toy.

I would suggest getting blank ones from RRVaporz. I got a great deal and he shipped super fast. I think CloudsofVapor had a decent deal on them too, but you had to buy like a ton of them.

I have a DSE905 which I really like and its made to use the DSE901 atomizer. So its very much like the eGo vs a regular Joye 510 in concept. That is bigger battery but same atomizer. But since I'm rather new to vaping (only a month) I wanted an easy way to test a bunch of flavors and settled on the V4L sample packs. 5 cartomizers for 10 bucks is a simple way to test flavors and no need to blow out atomizers and refill cartridges when changing flavors.

This relates to your question like this: Although the KR808D-1 and DSE901 have the same threads there aren't any holes in the battery end for air for a cartomizer to draw from. And I didn't care for the long and awkward (to me) way a typical 901->808 adapter is designed. So I got a 901->510 adapter and a 510->808 adapter and screwed them together. The setup is: DSE905 battery body with 901 threads -> (901->510 adapter)->(510->808 adapter)->808 style cartomizer. I also have a pair of KR808D-1 batteries.

I can state that even with the double adapter the vape is identical between the them when using V4L 808 style cartomizers.

The adapters won't damage anything but there are now 510 cartomizers available at Nhaler (probably other places too) that work well with the eGo/tornado batts:

And the drip tips are a nice touch for cartos:

I have tried a few different type of 510 cartomizers and like these.

FIVE (5) Joye 510 compatible e-Cigarette blank cartomizers (This is NOT Genuine Joyetech!)

The soft tip makes them easy to refill and the filling material lasts a long time before breaking down.

I also like the fact that they draw very easily. They can be adjusted by plugging one hole with a tooth pick. Some cartomizers have a very hard draw and are next to impossible to make the hit easier.
