I just got done wiring up a 5v box mod from madvapes and when i put the batts in it and turned it on with not atty connected it smoked(literally) one of the batts. I followed the instructions on madvapes and have checked and rechecked all the connections. I cannot find an issue with the wiring. If anyone has an idea why my mod is smoking batts it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So i noticed I was being stupid and had the master switch wired wrong. I rewired it as such, ground to the pcb instead of thru the switch and positive to the middle lug on the switch and the left lug positive to the pcb. Now im having a massive voltage drop from 6.6v to 2.5 as soon as I turn the master switch on.When i hit the fire switch it drops to 1.7v at the connector. The led doesnt work....nothing.I do not know small electronics that well but everything on the pcb is the way madvapes said to do it. Bleh:facepalm:

If you had the positive and negative meeting at the master switch and fried a battery the 1st time around, chances are the switch didn't last either. With the batteries removed, check the switch for resistance with a multimeter as it should have a fairly low reading, but the voltage drop indicates it is higher now. Other segments of the circuit can be checked too, like the LED. The meter will even light the LED dimly if it still works.
