UPDATE: well when i hold it together with with 2 of my 14500 batteries it works fine. sure wish i didn't spend money on 4 of those 15270's. anyone have any idea how to get the smaller batteries to work? (i'm assuming they're tripping their protection for some reason)

OP: so i made a 5v regulated copper mod and it's having issues and since i don't really know how these things work, i don't know how to trouble shoot the problem.

soooo...

when it has 1 of my 3.7v 14500 batteries in it it works fine

when it has my 2 15270's in it with no cart on the color changing led works fine

but, when it has both batteries and a cart on it, the led just blinks on and then off and nothing else happens. the first few attempts with both batteries and cart it would start vaping and the led would be on, but only for 1 sec or slightly less.

anyone got any ideas on this problem?

huge amounts of thanks in advance!!

i don't know any other way, so i did it the same way as my 5v box mod kit from madvapes and wired it the same as their how-to. and used the same parts.

Well in general if using a regulator you should always use a pair of 3.7V cells.

Regulators need some voltage head room.

If we just go by general specs and nominal voltages (close enough for a rough example) that regulator needs 5.5V in to output 5V out. Two of your cells starts you at 6V, just not enough. Two 3.7V cells start at 7.4V. You have basically seen this difference when you stacked some 14500.
