IMO, you should pick up a LR atty and try it on a regular battery (or 3.7v PV) - if you like it, then it will open you up to a wide range of mods to choose from. I love my PS Protege and that might fit the bill for you. The Vapestack at madvapes.com looks promising too.
The smallest HV (5-6V)devices you can get right now are going to have 2x CR2 batteries in them. I have personally never had an issue with them but there have been some horror stories with them venting. Your next step up in size is CR123's and they are a good bit larger than CR2's. I think those devices will be too large for your liking.
I built a mod that used two cr2's and honestly didn't like it. The batteries didn't seem to last very long and too have seen a couple horror stories about those. I have heard good things about the GLV but have not had a chance to use one. I have had an xhaler since it's initial realease and it is still going strong. It just needs a little cleaning and noalox every once in a while. I got to see a prodigy V2 that a local member had and the xhaler and prodigy are about the same size with the prodigy being a tiny bit smaller. It looked like a really nice unit and had a good feel to it. To me neither one are very heavy. As far as the newer released units out there, I haven't had any exposure to those yet. Here is a link to some pictures of different mods but I doubt if it will have the latest and greatest. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...n/78628-side-side-comparison-e-cigs-mods.html
I agree, any other mod is going to keep dropping in voltage as the battery drains. The Buzz has a regulator that will stay at 5 volts or whatever you set it at.
The Buzz is the best working mod I've seen. I been using it for a couple months and it can't be beat.
Here is a very small 5volt mod I did awhile back:
if you're looking for small, theres the nautilus 6v ($65 i think), or the bb 6v ($85), a little larger but with safer and longer lasting batteries, i suggest the prodigy v3 ($83) which runs 6v, I also suggest you get some 510 cartos at litecigusa
Get the Buzz. There is no universal, constant 'sweet spot' - the sweet spot changes depending on the atomizer, the liquid, and the user's taste buds. The Buzz gives you full control in this regard, and the GLV doesn't.
This advice is coming from someone who owns 3 other 5 volt devices - none of which do what the Buzz does for me. ;-)
can't say anything about the buzz or glv, but the saber touch is really amazing. i just got mine in the blue and i absolutely love it. incredible vapor and th with the 510. he's actually having a contest as i type...check out the suppliers forum. just my 2 cents.
p.s. it's really not too big or heavy. actually vapes like a beast at the 5v regulated. lovin it!!!
