Guys
We have always heard that vaping on 3.7 volts and vaping on 6 volts is much different.
We have always concluded that the die hard 6 volt vapers would never enjoy a 3.7 volt vape.

I think that to enjoy a 3.7v vape this is made possible by choosing an 801 atomizer that has a lower ohm resistance.
My 801 atty's vary enormously in ohms.
The lowest is 2.4 ohms the highest is 8 ohms. Most 801 attys are 3~3.5 ohms.

If i use a 2.4 ohm 801 atty with a 3.7volt battery, the vape is totally acceptable. There's a nice sizzle and nice vapor.

In brief, make sure you measure all your 801 atty's and use the lower resistance ones with a smaller 3.7volt battery.

Hope this makes sense.

I am not up on such technical things as you describe, but an 801-style atomizer produces excellent vapor and throat hit at 6 volts. A BE112 atomizer outperforms any SLB801 atomizer hands down. I can run a BE112 at 6 volts for a few weeks while I can kill an 801 in less than one week.

An atomizer with a more robust heating element that could withstand the constant abuse of a higher-voltage device would be something worth trying. I cannot comment on the vaping experience of the 901 or 510 as I only use penstyle atomizers.

I have a half dozen m201 attys in my storage bin. They all measure between 2.4 and 2.8 ohms. My Fluke 110 was recently calibrated. These are accurate readings. 'Nuff said?

m201 attys are, in short, large 510 atomizers. They hit hard and run hot at 3.7 volts. There's no reason to play around with higher voltages that these atomizers were not designed/engineered to operate at, IMHO.

Interesting Quo! I need to go get a digital meter (have the old one with the needle on it and can't read doodly on it!!).

I've noticed that some of my 302/801 attys vape better on my 5v passthrough than others. Do you think the atomizer resistance has something to do with that then? Higher resistance maybe so it isn't so harsh? (not sure I'm getting this, but I'm determined!!) 'Splain the resistance thing puhleeeeze?

The lower the resistance on an 801 the hotter the atty will get and the more vapor it will produce. But your risk is higher if you do not keep it juiced up.
The higher the resistance the more voltage you need to get the desired effect.

All i am saying is that you have a better chance of enjoying a 3.7 volt vape with the 801, if that 801 has a lower resistance value.

Let's pretend you have 3 801 atty's in front of you of the same brand.
One reads 3 ohms, the second 3.5 ohms, the third 3.9 ohms.

Use the 3 ohm one to vape at 3.7 volts.

The 3.9 ohm one on a 3.7 volt battery will give you very little vapor, and you can barely hear the atty sizzle.

I don't know why Ritchie is getting his knickers in a twist..I'm speaking of 801 penstyle atty's...BE112 to be more specific.

All the ones that have a lower resistance i have set aside to vape at lower voltages.

Hmmm. I don't have any idea why you'd think that I was "getting knickers in a twist", Quo. I was just pointing out that there is much more consistency in the (low range) resistance of the m201 attys as compared to the 801s-- at least in the small sample size I was able to measure.
