New here ( 1st Post ) Smoked for over 30 years 1 to 2 packs a day. I Loved to Smoke !

It has been 60 days since my wife and I quit smoking. I was on the smoke pill for 2 weeks before I quit and continued it for 2 weeks after my quit date. I did set a date, bought some store bought disposables, then some store bought rechargeable types. Then went to a mall and got rid of about $600 real fast on a product ( Tececig ) not bad - not great either. Their Vape fluid is good. If I had to depend on them only it would be OK. I chewed a ton of 4mg cinnamon gum. The first 72 hours was hard, but I had to remember that my dog also smoked ( because I smoke ) He hates cigarettes and would often go hide to get away from the smell.

My wife and I drive a Truck ( Team Drivers ) It smelled like a tobacco institute. I finally took some time off in East Texas and I cruised some smoke shops looking for some more stuff. Found a thing called a Pig-Cig made by Lecig. They make them in 1300, 900, 650 mah. Also stocked up on fluid. I Love Vanilla, Mocha, and tobacco mixed. It too was made by Lecig. It's OK. I am still looking for a good brand. I think sweet may be the key to new people. I am on the 24mg but plan on lowering it at night as it seems to make my heart race. I can feel it pounding when I go to bed.

I am pretty sure if it were not for these products I would have failed. Because I have tried numerous times to quit with success lasting a day maybe two.

I went to a perfume shop and found a Tube of Cologne, looks like a Cuban Cigar tube. Even says Cuba-Brazil in fancy letters. I measured my E-cig put some Styrofoam in the bottom, around the sides and the top so that the e-cig is locked when the cap is placed on it. I do this so that I can put it in mt pocket without damaging it. The E-Cig cannot move at all...

I suppose it would not be news. Food taste better. It rained the other day and I could actually smell it before it arrived. I am so thankful for these wonderful products. I know they won't last forever and need to be replaced at some point, but anything beats smoking.

And I beat that horrible monster, I knew, and was convinced that I would die of a smoking related death. I was hooked like no other person that I have ever met.

If I can do it, anyone can.

I have a read a great deal of stories in this forum. One thing I have not seen. When I get an overload of nicotine. I get the hiccups. I hiccup every 3 to 5 seconds. Lets me know ( Too much ) I can make them go away at will. I stop the vaping for about 30 minutes and seem fine.

With all the Honesty that I can muster. I would not pick up a cigarette and smoke it for a million dollars.

What an inspiration. Thanks for the story. I'm also a long time smoker and decided to try ecigs 3 weeks ago for the second time. I have been smoke free for 3 weeks. I hope your success continues and I look forward to having my own success this time. Any recommendations as to stop the cravings for a real one??

Today is my 3rd week too. How much analogs did you smoke a day and what nicotine content are your current juices at?

I too have cravings for analogs at times but always went to a manageable or (I don't want a cigarette) after I vape.

Congrats! And keep up the good work!! Did your wife smoke too? If she didn't, I'll bet she's so glad you quit!!!

My best friend is a OTR driver. She tried to quit with a very expensive shopping mall version of an e-cig before, and failed, she hated the way they tasted. She's coming to visit me for a few hours tomorrow on her way through, and I intend to show her my Ego and mini nova and the basket full of flavors I have!! I'm hoping she see's it can be different, she sounds interested when I talk to her about it!!

I started with Metro disposable, then Tececig, then the big Pig-Sig 1300mah I also bought 2 900mah as a back-up. I still use the Tececigs as they are compact and do work. And I have $600 worth of filters, fluids and that go to them.

The Pig-Sig ( I have 2 1300mah ) one last all day.

It's only in the last 2 weeks that I have quit reaching subconsciously for a cigarette. I wear a rubber wrist band and pop-it when I crave. Seemed to work. The human mind is a very strange machine. I find that I can take one drop of fluid and massage it into my tongue and the craving for nicotine goes away. But I love to Vape, and will continue.

The fluid thing is a mystery, I went by a Tattoo shop that sells a well known product that has great reviews. Bought a mocha and vanilla. Tasted horrible...Like most things it is an individual thing. I may find it repulsive and someone may find a home.

The tececig fluid is by far the best I have tried. $10 for 10ml. That is pricy but a really great product.

I also find that cleaning the atomizer and the battery ( The bottom ) in alcohol everyday helps the taste. Keeps the burned taste away. I just get a white Styrofoam cup with about a 1/2 inch of alcohol and swish it around. You will see the alcohol has a light tint to it when you get done. It taste fresh and clean. Also the mouth piece. The hygiene of these things should be considered as important.

Thanks for warm welcome:)

Way to go! :) I never thought I would stop smoking in my life. I've been tobacco free for over 6 months now. I also have grown to love vaping at least as much as smoking...probably more.

I beat the urge, when the analog tempting demon reared his ugly head, by direct dripping very high tobacco flavored e-liquid. I don't know if this will work for others but it worked for me. Then I started wanting a good cigar. I went on-line to a fancy-schmancy e-liquid site and bought very high Nic cigar flavored e-liquid. I still direct drip this from time to time just for the flavor!

Re: alcohol as a cleaning agent. I had to be reminded that isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol contains water and over time may cause unreversable corrosion or pitting in almost any metal. I use golden grain to clean with or EverClear as it is known in other regions. Others swear by vodka as an excellent cleansing agent.

Keep up the good work and hopefully one day both of us will be thinking "I just can't believe it! It's been a year with no tobacco."
Thanks for an uplifting and energizing post; many would not have shared it.

Congrats Capitan to you and your wife! My husband and I did this as a team and it is working very well, 5 weeks tobacco free today! I truly never thought we would be able to succeed at this. Vaping makes it seem easy. We really didn't have to give up anything. Love not smelling like an ashtray anymore. :) Much cheaper to vape, or it will be when I stop ordering stuff's LOL Keep it up!

Congrats man!

Almost three months in and it seems like smoking was part of another life already! As for nic level, check out 18mg stuff. I am able to chain vape at that level and no racing heart at night! It's way cool to be able to have your cake and eat it too w/ regards to getting the nic without having to smoke...

Good Luck and stay the course and you will find you love it more than smoking.

Captain:

I'd tell you to drink more water, but that might not be great advice for people that have their rears glued to an air seat. :). If you're mixing your own juices, which if not, you will be one day; you might try changing the percentages of VG and PG to your personal liking. Some people can handle PG and not VG and others are just the opposite. You can also change the nicotine strength up or down.

I've been using different rebuildable atties like the DID, Phoenix and A7 with VV mods and found out right away I needed to reduce my nicotine strength from 20 to 16 because it was upsetting my stomach. I've been vaping 4-years and never looked back for a pack of Marlboro's. When I fist started vaping, my nicotine strength was in the 28mg range. With improvements in delivery systems, I've cut back on strength quite a bit.

Stay safe on the road: Keep our products moving.
