Hi Guys,

New to vaping. Picked up an eGo-T kit with a few of those wickless CE5 clearomizer tanks last weekend, and have been smoke free ever since! I've tried quitting so many times with various methods, and can't believe how easy it has been with the vaping to curb the urges. Have not had a craving for a real cig, really. Starting to feel better, breath better.... but that could just be a placebo effect at this point I suppose, since I'm pretty excited that this could really be it!

I'm happy with the kit I got, but my real question to you veterans is about the juice. I picked up this kit from skcigs, and a couple 30ml bottles of juice (18mg) for $10 CAD each. After doing more research, this price seems pretty cheap, and I'm thinking it's some crappy chinese juice. How concerned should I be that it's actually dangerous?

Now that I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with vaping as I wean myself off nicotine slowly, I'm willing to invest some money into this. Heck I've already saved enough to pay for this kit by not smoking just this first week!

I've checked the Canada local forums (can't post there yet tho...), and there seems to be rules about people sharing list of vendors?? Where should I go to find out what are the reputable online shops in Canada? I'd also like to try to find a good local vape shop, but don't really want to drive all around finding just dingy holes. Tips?

Congrats on switching, I also just recently switched to vaping due to realizing how much of a sucker I was on spending 10-20$ a week on ciggys. Anyways, chinese juice is really bad from what i've experienced. Bad taste and gave me a slight headache after a couple puffs. It can be dangerous because you really don't know what chinese companies put in there. My advice, buy U.S.A made e-juice or maybe even look into making D.I.Y e-juice :)

Grats on stopping.
I was in Toronto for business on Wednesday and the sales rep I met up there told me that my setup (30S tank on a V4L Dial a volt) would draw attention from the RCMP. I have no idea if he was scaring the American or telling the truth.
If you get to the American side of the Peace bridge, I know there are a ton of shops in Buffalo. I have to think there are a couple good ones in Toronto as well. Rob Ford seems to have a persuasion for vices.

Welcome!

I think after you've made 5 posts (by 25 after the hour) the system refreshes, and you can start posting in other areas. Check out the General Smoking Discussion (you can read anywhere until the 5 post count) that has a Brick & Mortar listing. Not sure how far up into Canada it goes (and my Canadian geography is horrid, so I'm not exactly sure where you are.)

Congratulations on the switch to vaping. I'm 4 months without a cigarette, and I'm loving it. You didn't specify your juice, so hard to say good or bad. I've not been very venturous with my juice purchases - I have a local shop which makes its own, and I tend to buy 95% of my juice from there. Mt. Baker Vapor is my 2nd favorite, but don't know if they ship to you. Fairly inexpensive options, and you can pick your nic and PG/VG ratio.

Enjoy the vape :vapor:

Congrats and Welcome!!

We quit May 30th, and so far so good..me too on the quitting in the past and it being a rough time, and especially with the weight gain, and none of that this time around.

I'm not going to say we've saved any money from quitting, we spent around $200/mo on tobacco and tubes (we rolled ours on a machine) and have spent at least that and then some on vaping (initially at least) but it's fun, social etc.
Keep on Vaping!

Welcome to the vape world and glad you have made the switch. Just do your research on e-liquid is all I can say. As for Chinese juice we have American juice that have it made in China so who is to say if it's not safe . We only go by what the vendor says is in it. We don't know how they make it we just all hope it's a nice clean room with every precaution taken so we will all be okay. I was buying from a company and they said it was American made juice then I found out it was made in China. It didn't bother me that it was made in China but they said made in America and that is what bothered me, it wasn't made in America so they were lying so I never went back to them. Keep vaping and enjoy :)

Hi Stiiinger,
congrats on your first 7, hopefully now 8 days.
as for quality of juice .... well, there is little to no regulation in this industry here in the US and imagine same in Canada.
So now, would suggest vaping brands that are more common. This way, if something goes wrong, we have more people to join in the class action law suit! lol
but not. .. . more seriously, there is no regulation and just go by reputation.
don't vape something if it seems to hurt you or has a tast you don't like. so many juices out there, just go with what tastes good to you and don't be fearful of just "letting one go" if you don't like the joose.

Do put attention into the nicotine dosage on the juice. You will find this necessary to maintain against the cigarettes.

Pretty sure there are basic rules for "sharing" vendors and this is to protect spamming in the forums.
However, if you find a joose that absolutely hurts you, might be worth mentioning it ... the brand, flavor, ratio (if applicable) and the nicotine strength to warn others.

Me personally, i go with "made in USA" brands ... would not be averse to Canada either just haven't gotten that far yet.
Been happy with what i've found (Halo and Mt Baker Vaper).

KEEP IT UP!
HAPPY VAPING / BE HEALTHY.
