Reading the new user forum has been good for me, thanks for all the advice and product information. I read the FAQ about new users and it does say that after 5 posts you would be able to post in other threads. Apparently it takes 15 posts to get to see the "hidden" material.
It shouldn't have taken that many. I got full access after five posts... Maybe it was just a laggy update. Anyways, welcome to ECF and enjoy the bountiful information at your fingertips.
The APV Forum does take 15 posts and a refresh...all else is 5...and nothing is hidden that you can use, you will just get a message that you can't post there.
So is the 5 posts thing automatic or do one of the web-masters need to approve it?

Well, I now have 15 posts...what happens now?
The system just updates your priveledges, but it only does it once an hour, at 25 minutes past the hour. You don't get an alert or anything, it just happens. Hopefully not too much longer to wait now

To be blunt about it, you will find that a lot of great information can be found here on the noob forum.
You might note that some of us have thousands of posts, but still visit this section.

I'm sorry if I offended, I wasn't trying to say that the new user forum wasn't important. I apologize if it seemed like I was. I am just looking to get as much information on vaping as possible.
Post counts are always a pain, but it makes sense to cut down on spammers. I also like how the co-op/classified sections have a process of "verification" for users. Not foolproof, but it is definitely better than nothing. I was satisfied with just lurking here for info, but now have to post a bit in order to see the co-ops (other sites I frequent call them group buys). I figure I will get posts up eventually without too many bs posts.
No offence taken. It's just that all to often I see folks in such a rush to get off the noob forum, when in fact it is one of the best sources of information on ecf.
Your questions will get more answers, will get answers quicker, and will get a wider spectrum of answers here than you will get anywhere else on ecf.
You are right, no BS posts required or wanted (that's often called "spamming for post count" by the moderators.
If you don't feel you know enough to contribute to some of the threads, try welcoming some other new member who is also just beginning their journey here on ECF!
