Gday

Just got off the phone with inlaws. Apparently on channel nine news tonight, there was a story about the Feds are now saying that if you import nicotine ejuice and get caught with it you will be fined $8000 per bottle. They said it is leathal to kids if they get hold of it and 10ml digested by a kid can kill them in 5 min... WTF....... This is the first real big negative ive heard about nic ejuice. We can import non nic ejiuce though no worries. Any one heard anymore on this BULLDUST.?

Lucky I got my 2 x 15ml bottles of Dunhill 16mgs from the UK today :)

I have been vaping for almost 3 weeks with no nic from 50 a day smoker and today i broke down and smoked 4 cigarettes :( but now my nic juice is here i am happy to forget smokes for as long as the juice lasts!

Very Small population in OZ with a big anti cancer council that get their majority of funding from the ridiculously high tax on smokes and pay the executives huge salaries!
God forbid some of the population may stop smoking and they loose their jobs through lack of funding!

What if a Toddler ate a packet of legit nic tabs or lozenges that are sold everywhere? Death?

But the article said "this is where it gets tricky", customs cannot sieze the goods but they will alert health authorities and then you can be fined $8000.00. I reckon it's just a channel 9 stuff up?

From what I can tell on the govs therapeutic goods website you can only get fined $1100.00 if you supply the gear or sell it even so how the hell you get fined $8000.00 just for possessing it???

I knew this was too good to be true...

I just got 3 x 110 ml bottles of 36 mg from HC and have another 2 x 120 ml bottles of 100 mg on the way from Greenhouseone. Luckily I am in NSW and should not be affected, but we definitely need to watch as to where this goes. Like most sensationalist journalism hopefully just out of peoples heads when the next "big" story comes along!

how about you order your 0 nic, then order some nicotine liquid and mix the nic in yourself. Or is that banned as well?

Lol. that would be way worse to try getting in. I just hope my 2 orders get here then I'm going to wear nicotine patches for the nic craving and just buy 0 nic juice from here in Aus and still vape because I need that hand to mouth motion to get me through.

Makes me sooo bloody mad. Just look at the smug so called health professional (short haired chick) in the 9 news report and her complete ignorance, ill-informed, hypocrytical opinion. If she is sooooo 'ITS FOR THE CHILDREN, GOTTA SAVE THE CHILDREN" opinion, then why the hell didnt she get on the news years ago campaigning for ALL house hold cleaners, i.e , domestos, ajax, amonia to be illegal and banned. ????? HMMMMM . cause i sure as hell know if a child gets hold of amonia and drinks that they could be dead well and trully before 5mins.
Ohhhhh thats right.... cause ejuice dont get them tax dollars to campaign against smoking tobacco WHICH i may add they get from the govt's tobacco taxes and she would be out of a job and nothing reall to campaign agaisnt.... Ohhhh wait,, there was that report on australian kids have the WORSTE TEETH in the world at the moment due to soft drink consumption.... why dont they ban that??? or control it??? 4 cans per family per week,...... BLOODY HYPOCRYTES....

PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINKS AND VOICE YOUR PROTEST. EMAIL BOTH THE PREMIER OF QLD AND QLD HEALTH. With enough emails surely and hopefully they will look into this more closely instead of blindly. Tell them your succes story of quiting, and outrage at banning and enforcing fines on vapers , because one of their 2 big arguments is, their is no evidence to prove that electronic cigarettes help smokers quit and nicotine ejuice can kill children

There are lots of common items in the house that are deadly. Rat poison, cleaning materials, alcohol, solvents, glue, and many others. Nic juice is another. I can see concern, but no more than all the other things children could get to if not secured.

I think it's just another piece of anti-smoker legislation. What about liquor? Shouldn't we ban that? It's very dangerous. Naw, what would politicians do after work?

Scare tactics plain and simple!

I read somewhere on this forum about "Queensland" legislation banning juice and vaping implements but nothing about other states?

As long as we all keep in contact we can act as a middle man with juice for those who cannot get it or are not allowed to get it in the future.

Hey good idea Fisho. I'd be in that.

Don't worry. You are paying more than enough in taxation every time you buy a packet of smokes.

Then add the savings the gov will get on paying you a pension.

Ciggeretes are revenue neutral at worst for our government.

For me sticking one to the government is part of the appeal of e cigs. I would not care if they cost me more than smokes at least I am paying for the product not a heap of tax.

Man when I first heard about this I was totally appalled. Canada is starting to pull the samething as your government is right now. Come June 20th there is a bill coming into law called Bill C-36 and it more or less takes away our freedom. You can read threw Bill C36 here this pretty much takes away a bunch of our rights and civil liberties. Health Canada can come and peer threw our windows, trespass, search our homes and business without a warrant. I think we are categorized in the same group as hard core criminals

I just posted this in the Canada forum...

We have to ban water immediately. its been proven to be fatal if used inappropriately Woman dies holding her wee for a Wii

I am going to start a petition against the use of water either for bathing or consumption because if used inappropriately can cause death. SAVE THE CHILDREN!!!!
