OK, I got my 801 to 510 adapter in the mail today to retrofit my Sparkplug to work with 510 stuff. Problem is, the adapter (female) end does not seem to want to thread onto the sparkplug (male) end. It ony screws down less than a turn.

Should I go ahead and crank on it with a pair of pliers or something or should I have to? I'm confused. In an earlier thread I was told I needed an 801 to 510 adapter, but it doesn't seem to work. HELP?!?!

In the descrip of the SP3 it says it's 801 threaded so it sounds like you've got the right adapter. I've had several adapters that came new with the threads wonky. Usually just took a little work of screwing them off and on to get the them working properly. The only thing I can suggest if you're sure they sent a 801/510 adapter is to keep trying just going a little at a time but you don't want to apply to much force or you could mess up the threads on your pv.

I'd try a bit of fine grit sandpaper, on the adapter threads, see if that removes any excess garbage on them, perhaps just a little burr that it is catching on.

By the way, MarkFM...I got the package you sent me. Can't wait to try it out...and your homebrewed juice as well!! Just have to get through this adapter thing first. I'm so tempted to just get some pliers and force the thing on there, but I have no backup, so I'll be contacting MVS to send me another adapter. The sandpaper didn't seem to help...can't hurt though...but I'll for sure remember to try it in the future!!

Do you still have one of the original, non-working, atties? Does it still screw on okay? If you do have it, does the threading on the atty look like the 801 end of the adapter?

I have an atty on it that is working...for now. But the atty is from Sparkplug. The threads on the atty look the same as the threads on the adapter...but the adapter will only go on for about 1/4 of a turn, then it stops. I'm so very tempted to just force it with a pair of pliers, but then if it doesn't work...I'm stuck without a working pv.

Just a quick update on this situation for the 2 or 3 people that may be trying out the SP3...the adapter(s) I got from My Vapor Store were not at fault in any way. Turned out to be the threads on the initial Sparkplug. I got a replacement sparkplug and the adapters fit it like a glove. MVS was kind enough to rush me another adapter as I reported the initial one was bad. I offered to return the 2nd one, but they said to just keep it.

Kudos to My Vapor Store for some terrific customer service. They'll be getting more business from me for sure!!
