I bought a V2 starter kit about a month ago and decided to buy a couple of extra xl manual batteries from LitecigUSA

One came dead so I tried to charge it in my V2 charger and it didn't take a charge, red light stayed on
and also the tip led stayed on when in the charger, the other new battery charges fine without issue
and no led tip light staying on (just like my V2 batteries)

So I emailed Litecig about warranty and they asked what charger I was using which I replied V2

The next email I got from them was...

"I would honestly not use that charger. If I remember correctly their 808d products use a regulated
voltage while ours do not. The mixing of regulated an unregulated products can cause damage to them an
possibly other hazards."

Now its my understanding that V2 batteries are UNregulated and as stated in the email from Litecigs
their batteries are unregulated also.

Since the battery in question was dead when I got it and won't charge yet the other battery
I got had a charge and takes a charge my contention is I got a DOA battery and feel I may be getting
a run around over warranty.

Just to be sure I'd like some input if it could be a compatibility issue with the chargers.

BTW, was tested on two V2 chargers as I originally bought two starter kits from them

No clue about compatibility issues. The only issues I'm aware of occur between Gen1 and Gen2 chargers. And even then Gen2 batteries can be charged on Gen1 chargers, but the LED does some funky behavior while charging.

However, I've had poor customer service from LiteCig as well, so I will not be shopping there again. Live and learn.

Yeah if you put yourself in their shoes it will seem reasonable. The problem may well be the battery, but it could also be the charger, how are they to know?

I have one battery that wouldnt work at all with a charger of the same brand. Worked fine with another charger. Other batteries worked fine with that charger. Nothing obviously wrong. Cleaned both the charger and the battery, tried again, and it works.

Sometimes you have to pull the center post out slightly to get good contact too.
