Hey guys.. I figured this would be appropriate for the newb forum. My 808 is finally wearing out, all 3 batteries that is. They just don't last like they used to, and I find myself desiring much bigger vapor production and throat hit than I'm getting.
Do you guys have any personal reccomendation for a PV that maybe still uses the 901 atties? (I really like those.)
My birthday is coming up in about a week so I want some ideas of what I should get myself- lol.

I'd get a real e-cig with a clearomizer. If you really want to use the smaller batteries they do have a clearomizer for the 808d-1, or you can use the adapter on a 909 to use it. I guess you could use an adapter and use an ego style tank but it would look a little funky on the small batteries. Maybe i'm assuming too much, are you still using carts or atleast a drip tip?

i would suggest getting a 510 device and use an adapter for 808/901. this gives you TONS of room to grow and TONS of options. you could then move to all sorts of clearomizers, cartomizers, and tank systems to help you in your journey for the ultimate vape. ego-c twist/spinner is a good choice to bump up into the world of variable voltage...or you could spend a little more and jump up to a bigger PV...i'm not sure how big you want to go...the choice is yours

other opinion may vary but it's something to think about for expanding

Not to forget that SmokelessImage just put out their 808 Vision Spinner clone as well but moving away from 808 to 510/eGo might be a cheaper move in the long run. The SI Vision Spinner is like 35 bucks at 1300mah and authentic Vision Spinner I got at 1300mah was only 24 bucks (+3 or 4 bucks for the eGo charger).

SI also has the (Kanger?) T3 for their 808 equipment but again it might be cheaper to get a Kanger T3 from somewhere like DiscountVaper or something.

The 510 system will definitely give you the most options. I've become a fan of 808's though, so that's where I choose to stay. I've noticed i rarely have to worry about my cartos being out of stock, even during Chinese New Year. ;)

If you want to stick with automatics, the Echo can't be beat. It's an automatic fat battery from 650-1300 mAh with a 3 ml cartomizer. I only use the 650's and they easily last me an entire day at work. However, your 901 atties will not work on this battery without doing some fiddling to an 808-901 adapter.

For the best eGo-style 808's, I'd say go with the X2 line at Smokeless Image. The X2's are pass-through charging batteries, so you can vape while recharging the battery. They're not cheap, but they are solidly made and take a ton of abuse. S.I. also has a VV battery now, but there are better options for that.

NHaler has both an iGo and an Echo VV batteries known as the Revolver. The Echo version isn't a "true" Echo, it is merely flat-topped with one set of threads. The iGo version has 2 sets like an eGo. For $28.00 you get a battery and charger, as well as a CE4+ with 3 heads. NHaler also has the iTaste mod, if you want to go that route.

MadVapes is your best deal on mods, with both the Gripper and the Roughstack in 808 at reasonable prices. I've heard very good things about the Gripper.

NHaler, S.I., Smoktek and GotVapes are your best sources for 808 clearomizers. S.I. doesn't offer anything in varying ohms, with everything being in the 2.8-3.0 range. Hopefully that will change as time goes on now that they have a VV battery.

Just remember that 901 atties will not fire on a "sealed" auto battery without some modification. However, they will work on manual batteries with no issue.

Good luck!

Smokeless Image has an X2 battery in several size that are 808 compatible. I still use my Volt 808s but the larger X2s let me use the same cartos with longer battery life.

The X2 battery is comparable to an eGo battery, just with the 808 threading that Smokeless Image prefers. In addition they have the rebranded Vision Spinner variable voltage battery called the X2 Spinner.

No need to go with the expense of a new eGo 510 thread system when you can stay with the 808 thread format and continue to use the delivery devices you already have.

Unless your plans are to jump even higher in the vaping world with a mod that uses replaceable, rechargeable batteries...

I started with 808 (Halo G6) and then bought a X2 pass through so I could use my Halo carts on a bigger battery. Then I discovered the Kanger M3 clearomizer (808 version) and haven't touched my standard carts since. I've had mixed results with the Kanger T3 though, and it has a cooler, lighter airy draw compared to the M3 which produces warmer, purer vapor and lots of it. M3s are half the price of the T3 and smaller without ego threads so it will fit and work well on mini sized batteries like Halo G6 as well as the X2 and other larger 808 threaded batteries.

I was tempted to go the 510 route for a while but now that I found a combination that works for me I'm sticking with it until I need new batteries, then maybe it will be time to go 510. In the meantime the X2/M3 808 setup is keeping me satisfied.
