900 MAH ego passthrough to battery- The Woe's

Just purchased another one. The connection on the end of the ego passthrough broke off, the little plastic thingy got loose but it would still charge if wiggled, the more I wiggled, the worse it got. So disconnected the usb cord, and the plastic cover that goes overtop of the pins, came with it. So bought another. The battery is still chargeable on the ego usb charger, but a no go for passthrough anymore. Anyone else have this issue or any tips on how to prevent it? This ego batt, as a passthrough lasted me only 2 months. Almost as good as my 510 passthroughs I went through 4 of them in 8 months. Someone needs to come up with a better design me thinks.

What brand of eGo? I have 2 Joyetech eGo passthroughs and bot are holding up very well. And honestly, I kinda abuse them, one at my PC and the other in the work truck. Neither have any issues with the connector end.

I believe this one is not a genuine joye product. It was pretty flimsy when I got it, not to mention the cord connection that connects into the computer was not straight horizontal, it was on a slant. But hey the cord is still in tact!

Woot! More USB cables. Sorry to hear you're having these issues. Hopefully someone else can chime in with their experience with other brand passthroughs though. Maybe just a couple duds? If nothing else, like I said, my Joye ones seem to be great so far (2 months and hopefully counting).

The three Ego passthroughs I had all had a short life. I had some bad luck with Egos earlier in the year... from different vendors too. I dunno why.

Makes you wonder who carries genuine joye anymore. I know mine are knock off's. But the knock off ego batts are performing so nicely!

Joye recently updated all their products to include branding. They now all say "JoyeTech(TM)" on them. Old stock won't have this, of course... but I know Health Cabin has the new stock.

I just read somewhere in the newbie thread that passthroughs have a shorter life expectancy than regular batts, which I did not know. I have two Ego 1100mah passthroughs and two KR8 passthroughs ... I don't use them everyday, or even twice a week, so I have little experience with the wear and tear of these babies.

sucks to have a passthrough that you cannot even use as such....

ya my pt fell out of my pocket while vac'ing a car. about 2 feet if that. shortly after I got it and that killed usb charging

Both my batteries are passthroughs. Been using them steady for 3 months with no problems. They are genuine Joye's though so maybe that makes the difference? Even dropped my 1000 mah on a concrete floor and, praise be! Still works fine.
