Before Kate51's first edit:
It was funny, unless you happen to have had a real diagnosis and have friends that immediately go into "sorry" mode. I didn't know.
Sorry if I offended You, no offense meant, to be sure.
No problem Kate. I was worried that I had inadvertantly offended you, and then upset you by pointing out it was a joke.
As I said earlier, it was an email from my mom. What I didn't post was the message that she added "This sounds like us!"
Often her and I travel to visit my son, who lives in another city about an hours drive away. Invariably as we pull up to his house, one of us will remember something that we forgot to bring with us. It's almost become a game. And naturally there are the things we leave behind and don't remember until unloading the car at her house.
And after she was done (I think):
I took you at your word that you had had a real diagnosis and that you have friends that immediately go into "sorry" mode. I didn't know. I see myself like the story you posted every day. It isn't so funny if you live it. Children that live it do not see it as funny, they feel stupid and different from everyone else.
Sorry if I offended You, no offense meant, to be sure. Don't mind me, just carry on the fun! And by the way, I haven't watched a soap opera since 1968.
My deepest sympathies. I will always remember you now as the lady with A.D.D. and no sense of humor about it. It might just be safer if you avoid my posts in the future, as I don't want to offend and have no clue what you might find offensive... sound reasonable?
