I guess to point I was trying to make is this:

This Provari just isn't doing it for me anymore, I think I'll build my own!

Lets see what I have laying around... I have these four 1,000,000mAh 26650 batteries I got off eBay for 9.95, with free shipping. I have this lead pipe I'll never use and I have the end caps that fit. I need a good size tank... this Redbull can should work great. Here's some speaker wire and solder, may need some duct tape and silicone. Wick, what to use for a wick? I'll never wear those sneakers again, so these shoe strings should work! Wait, are these going to be enough? I better get both sets. Now, to build an atty. what to use, what to use? AH HA! Bailing wire!! These wood screws will work for the post. A button... I don't use this Xbox controller, and if these triggers can handle a 50 cal, surely it can fire up this mod.

Lets get this mod together! Batteries are a little tight, but I should be able to hammer them in, dang plastic coating. Before I put this bottom cap on, I need a good spring... Just in case I need room to add a kick. 510 fitting, how could I forget the fitting? I'll just crack open this old ego and use this one. How much solder is too much? That should be good. Now, use this old carto for the Redbull can... Gonna need that syilcone to keep it from leaking! Add a couple wood screws for the post and this spaker wire should work for completing the connection. If 4 coils woks for most, 6 should be better. Lets wrap this bailing wire around these fine wicks and the tank is completed! I'll duct tape this trigger to the side and a little more solder... And this puppy is looking good! Poke a hole in the top and add my favorite drip tip, and we're about ready to fill it and fire it up!

Looks like everything is in place, all connections are in place and look solid. tank is filled, so I'll give it a good shake to get the wicks soaked.

Ok, I'm ready to vape! Just a little squeeze of the trigger and.... *meets God*

Let's just regulate stupid. I don't want u or anyone else taking my rights away.

Just because u THINK I might blow myself up, you really need look no further then most industries at the safety of regulation that already exists, and yet Chemical plants etc etc etc still blow up.

No amount of regulations well stop stupidity. So get off of trying to use the safety factor fella.

Lol just when I thought I had heard it all.

Now back to my :pop:

If it weren't for modders and tinkerers there would not be innovation. - And, pet peeve of mine: Stacked batts are not in and of themselves any more dangerous than single batteries. The hysteria revolving around the two injury accidents last year was unnecessary and quite ridiculous... and as a little more info came out about at least one of those people using improper batts for their device, I think some of the people driving that hysteria realized their mistake... Proper venting, blow out plugs, and hot springs are the right safety features to mitigate problems that arise with li-on batts (as is quality circuitry when considering non-mechanical devices).

If you want to avoid the nanny-state holier-than-though attitude prevalent in govt entities that causes regulation that has an effect on things you personally care about, pay better attention when you enter the next voting booth. Don't blame those who tinker and experiment. Blame yourself for your own choices and/or lack of activity in not advocating for candidates who share your views or contacting your representatives to try to convince them certain action or inaction on their part is against your interests.

Vaping isn't going anywhere. The government- both federal and state, just want a piece of the pie- taxes. They will require vendors to buy a license and to collect tax. How much tax, no one knows. States like California basically legalize ........., yet they would outlaw vaping? Never. They just want the revenue.

everytime we try to regulate stupid...the stupid people scream loudly about freedom and liberty...the only two words they know...they conveniently forget duty and responsibility.

You think too small my friend. In another thread I discussed the merits of using a prebuilt coil from the suspension of a pickup truck and a pair of bluejeans or two for the wick with a 5gal bucket for the tank. Powers source? I think I mentioned wiring that bad boy up to a 220V wall outlet...you know the big round one reserved for powering the electric clothes dryer. Safety NOT guaranteed.

Just another thought, if we quit regulating stupid, we wouldn't have the Social Security problem we are facing. But noooooo they have to put that stupid warning on all blow dryers that you can't use it in the bathtub. Or that you don't want to put your hands in a running law mower to get that clump of grass out of the blades. Or...... The list is endless. It used to be a natural way to keep the population size down and the intelligence level up. Sadly they are both doing the opposite.

I'm joking (kind of not though)

Hmm... I think I have all those items at home! I did slam my 2000 Silverado, so I know I have the springs, check. I wear jean, check. I use that exact bucket as my "wash bucket", check. A standard 220 dryer connection kit, check!

Should I warn my fellow Arkansans? Naaaa... we love a good light show and things that go BOOM!

I say we take ALL warning labels of EVERYTHING, pass a law where people can't sue for their stupidity, and let nature (survival of the fittest) run its course. The world would a lot less cramped, this I know!

Uh huh! *nodding my head vigorously*. That's what I'm sayin'.

Here is the point some of the rest of us are trying to make.

If someone wants to hook up a vaping atty to a car battery and blows himself up, well I'm sorry the guy got hurt. But it's not my (or your) business to try and tell him what to do. This is the whole line of thinking I hate. People who are adults can take whatever risk they want, it's not up to you.

I'm in NO way trying to tell people what to do! I'm in the process of building an ultralight AR-15, so I know, I like the freedom to do as I please, but when it come to people getting hurt, the government (big brother) will see all these and try to stop the sales of something I enjoy.

I'm just saying, let's be safe and not give big brother a reason to regulate what we do! I, in no way, want you guys to stop tinkering.

If that guy does blow his head off, that's more stock for the rest of us! Maybe my favorite cartos won't be on back-order!

Its 100% not the governments place to tell you ether. When I was a freshman I had 3 friends killed in a car wreck The Root brothers and Derril Hankins. They were driving at 100+ and hit another car doing 70+ at a blind rural intersection. No signs. I believe their lives were not in vain even though they died very young.
To this day I approach those types of intersections with caution. Im sure others do the same who were affected by such a sad event.
Laws will not save everyone. Yes we need a minimal amount of common since laws to be enforced, but I hate to say it but some people have to show us what not to do threw example just as some show us what to do the same way.
IMO if you think its up to you or the government to tell me what I can and cant do because YOU do not think the risks are worth taking then you are a very big part of the problem we are now facing in our declining freedoms and civil liberty's.

I'm in NO way trying to tell people what to do! I'm in the process of building an ultralight AR-15, so I know, I like the freedom to do as I please, but when it come to people getting hurt, the government (big brother) will see all these and try to stop the sales of something I enjoy.

So instead of telling some what they should and should not do wouldn't it be wiser and more productive to join activist groups to limit big brother?

Look, I like you, you bring up valid points and you've not taken anything personally which is rare to see in anyone these days, lol.

Anyhow, I'm glad we agree on letting people do what they want.

I do disagree that we should discourage any kind of tinkering, even dangerous tinkering, mainly because they (the government) can't do anything on the device side even if they wanted to. All of the devices can be made at home with materials used from other industries. the nicotine is the only area where we'll see any kind of regulation because it's the only spot that makes any sense.

Every year, at least here in Louisiana, we have tons of people buying fireworks to celebrate both New Year and Independence Day. Any idiot can walk in and buy explosives from a guy selling them under a tent. And every year, people end up the the ER because they are drunk and misbehaving and did something stupid. The case for banning fire crackers to me is even more compelling, I mean you could set a fire with them. You could hurt people other than yourself.

The government allows it though.

Trying to not give big brother a reason to do something is in itself, limiting your own freedom.

Gallagher said that in a comedy routine once, along those lines. He mentions those packets in electronics that say "do not eat" lol.
