A couple questions before I order one...

Does the Q's batterly last significantly longer than the R2V2?

and... does anyone recommend getting or not getting the clear coat...

Well....did you get the clear coat? I wish that it was an option when I bought mine. If you like the rustic look, don't bother with the clear coat. If you want it to look shiny and brand new, go for it. The 17670 at 1800 mAh will last twice as long as the 14500/900mAh batteries. At six volts the slightly larger CR123's will easily outlast the CR2's. My original HEX uses the CR2's and they don't have a very long battery life. The Q is an improvement and I've been considering buying one for a while now.
