While I agree that it's better to really want to quit smoking for it to work, I have read several posts of "accidental quitters". Folks who just wanted to vape so they could get their nicotine "fix" in places smoking wasn't allowed or desirable. They found that they actually preferred vaping to smoking.

I say give it a good go. Get some good equipment and some good liquid. You never know, it might surprise you.

That's what happened to me... I thought that it would be cool to be able to 'smoke' in the car with my wife, or while sitting on the couch watching TV. Then I ended up preferring the vape, and the wife preferred the fact that I didn't smell like an ashtray!

Here's what I did over two years ago - specified one day of the week
and one day only when I'd do nothing but vape, then the rest of the days
I could smoke. I mean honestly I'd be overcome with anxiety just even
thinking of quitting smoking. So I got some high nic disposables and that's
what I did, till one day I was wanting to taste the flavor of the disposable
(espresso) and it wasn't my day to vape, haha. That's when I realized this
vaping thing would work. I started off high nic, tapered down over time.

when I switched from cigarettes to a pipe. it did not take long before I hated the taste of cigarettes. I smoked for 45 years and when I quit.I was inhaling pipes and cigars. but after 7 month of vaping I find I no longer like the smell of pipe smoke. I have notice a dramatic improvement in my health. I don't have that smokers cough. I have a lot more energy and do not get out of breath as easily. I use to love smoking my pipe but did not like the heath problems it caused.vaping will never taste or feel exactly like smoking. but it has helped more people quit than drugs. patches or gums. but nothing will help you quit until your ready to quit

Hi to all,

I've been smoking 38 years and so has my husband. We've been rolling our own with a machine to save money. I bought a e-cig through E-Smoke a year ago and it hit fairly well and was lightweight. More like smoking than my recent try of Halo e-cigs. Halo's are quite heavy and even with the strongest liquid, it doesn't hit well at all. At least not for my taste. Neither of us are finding e-cigs do much. I've heard vaping is too strong. Now I'm really confused and was hoping some people on this forum could give me ideas.

I don't want to stop smoking and don't have any plans to. I enjoy it and figure I'm going to die of something so I want to be happy while doing so.. Not a good attitude but.... Can you help me with ideas of any e-cigs and/or vaping that have satisfied that real cigarette urge? Here comes the real dumb ?.. do you inhale with vaping? I see most everyone smoking them like a pipe. That's not going to cut it for either of us. Wishing you all the best

are there any vape shops you can visit.

if you roll your own, i think you should aim to get a mech with a kick and an rda. cheapest way to vape.
i recommend the m21x1 mechs such as
1: astro (because it's telescopic)
2: chiyou
3: king
Those three have compatible threads.

the kick module will give you some control to raise or lower your voltage to taste when you're starting out.

If you can afford it, instead of a mech with a kick and 18650 batteries and charger, you could start out with an istick instead; that should keep you going for several months to a year or maybe two; easier to start with a regulated mod, than with a mech.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the help in just a short time. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I have been browsing the web for reviews and a few chats. I can't believe all the accessories and different parts to these little machines. I think I will start out simple and maybe I will be able to stop smoking. Like dbrandt said, "a healthier life?". I just don't think I'm ready to right now. I don't have children and live with chronic major depression. But don't get me wrong.. I'm not one of these who sits around with a cigarette hanging out my mouth and smelling up the house. I resect smoking, if there is such a thing.. I never smoke in my home or anyone else's and I'm down to under a pack a day. I guess I could say I respect myself enough but just not ready to give up this comfort zone of mine to a whole new world and way of life. Not yet anyway......... You guys are all awesome

Speaking just for myself I found vape to be 100 times more relaxing than cigs. It feels cleaner and tastes better. One of the worst parts for me was getting my sense of smell improved, and I had to wash all my clothes, curtains, sheets, etc. Vape satisfies the hand issue, the hand to mouth, the sit and relax and have a smoke issue, and the morning wake issue(I did a blueberry muffin), and the after meal issue (vape a dessert flavor or a tobacco). You will have to suffer through the consequences of improved breathing, improved sleep, improved smell, and improved taste, but still get to vape. The switch to vape from cigs was practically painless to me. Good luck in your journey.
