To protect all of us here. I think we should lay this thread to rest or choose our words carefully so we don't anger any of the higher ups and don't inadvertently bring the debate or any types of arguments over here. I do believe in freedom to the fullest as there are no deleted posts in the IKV forum so like most threads, I won't close this one. We're free to talk but please heed caution in respect to moderators.

Rachel and Switched have always gone at it from opposing ends of the spectrum. Like someone said they are like Yin and Yang. The only difference in their exchanges is that one somehow manages to stay absolutely eloquent, and the other seems to just get more "grrrowl-y". I don't think I need to explain who is who. LOL

Have you been in touch with Switched, Isaac? Offline anyway?!

Wow, this sucks. I didn't know Switched as well as some of the other posters, but I do know this: When I posted about a problem with IKV 510 HV atties getting hot on my 5V passthrough, Switched was quick to jump in and start suggesting causes and what I should look for....I would have never thought the PT was at fault as I was new to IKV products. Sure, I could have asked Isaac...but I'd rather ask fellow "end-users" first and let the vendor do more important things....like ship orders, work on new product, etc.

I hope this issue over politics can be resolved quickly as Switched is highly valued by the community here on technical issues.

Wow! I just found this thread and it's the first I've heard about this. I read through the thread in the Canada forum that started this all and it looks to me like Switched got a little testy with people who disagreed with him and didn't like having his comments censored. I don't know what those comments were because they were deleted by a mod but it's pretty clear that having those comments deleted just ...... him off further.
Now, I like Switched a lot and if he doesn't come back it will be a loss for this forum. Switched is a very smart and thoughtful guy who likes to share the information that he comes up with and that info is always accurate, helpful and VERY complete.

@ Switched: Hey buddy, if you are reading this, please try to rectify this situation. We need you around here. Who else is going to take the time to research a question and type a ten paragraph, highly detailed response with figures and graphs?
You are a special kind of guy and we don't want to lose you. Pride can be a big thing to swallow, especially when you have so much to be proud of.
If you don't come back that would just suck for the rest of us. Guess that's all I have to say.

Wow... I just love how people jump to the conclusions that ECF staff are evil, and we're out to get people.

Switched asked to have his account closed. I mean, he actually sent either a PM or an email to Misty, our Supplier Officer, and specifically asked that his status as a vendor be revoked, and his account be closed. It doesn't get any clearer than that. He wasn't in trouble for anything. It's my understanding that he was upset with another Canadian member over some issue to do with the recent announcement by the FDA, and the Canadian government. They didn't see eye to eye, and he got angry enough to want to leave.

But hey, if you want to go ahead and blame the ECF for his actions, knock yourselves out. Blame me specifically, for I'm the one that made the decision to respect his wishes and close his account. Just like I do when anyone else requests it. Especially since all it takes is an email asking to come back to have their account reinstated.

You know, sometimes I really do get tired of the conspiracy theories around here. It's somewhat irritating to spend hours upon hours helping members who have real issues, just to get crapped on by a few who want to believe that forum staff are evil and have agendas. Luckily, there are still a ton of great people who make this a mostly great place to be. Yeah, I'm venting a bit, but there are a few people in this thread that I thought would know better, or know that they could at least ask me about the matter before going into the whole "ECF is evil" diatribe.

From reading all the posts..there appears NO ban by ECF. It does appear a CHOICE was made by Switch, which I will respect, because it is Switch we are all talking about.
So I must and will respect his decision. I hope everyone else will too.

Hey Angus,

I think it has been verified that Switched's leaving was voluntary. I do believe there was just a lot of confusion around the time he left, people not knowing what happened etc etc.

I also think that the word perma-ban in Isaac's first post of this thread signed and sealed the deal for the mis-understood.

Hopefully that has been cleared up, and there can be no more misunderstanding or misgivings.

I read through the Canadian thread Angus. I saw what happened. This one isn't completely on you guys. Switched got ...... about having his posts censored and reacted (IMO) hastily and harshly. He wasn't fired, he quit.

I wasn't in the least bit upset with ECF or you for doing your job and except for one mod that I don't see in my postings any more I have always been treated very well by you guys and gals. I'm sure if Switched were here he would tell you the same thing. Just think how ECF would be without moderators. I know I wouldn't like it.

Oh, I know that. This ain't my first rodeo. Usually when someone gets banned and people whine, I can't say anything because we have a policy that we don't discuss disciplinary actions against a member with other members. It's a matter of privacy. So I'll just bite my tongue and let them vent and come up with whatever conspiracy theories they want, as long as no rules are broken.

In this case, I felt I could say something, because there were no disciplinary actions involved. To be honest, I probably should have done like I always have, and bite my tongue, rather than vent a bit as I did. Hey, I'm not perfect.

Angus, even tho you are staff, you have a right to a voice. I appreciate all the work you do, it's a never ending task. I found the link yesterday where you explained as much as you could. I posted that link in hopes others could see that Switched asked for his account to be closed. I think it got buried since I just edited my original post. I probably should have added another post.
