A Few Questions Now That I've Started!

So, I've been vaping now for a few days and I have to say that I'm "hooked". As someone who smoked analogs for 10 years and tried every and any NRT I could find, this has finally gotten me to cut down my analogs by over half.

I'm left with a few questions. For the record: I'm using a Riva510 and I have an order for a bunch of juices and an extra battery.

Now. Questions!

1. I love vaping, but I'm still hit with that desire for that "smoke-into-the-lungs" feeling. Anyone come across a liquid that provides something like that?

2. Carrying around the Riva510 is a bit bulky. When I sit at my desk at work and use my Riva, it's fine, but as my collection of accessories and juices grows, I'm wondering if there's a "pocket-sized" case that anyone has found for the Riva510/eGo that fits what we need (totally subjective, I know)?

3. I'm wondering if there's a cheap-ish, manual "look-alike" PV for social situations? Sometimes I don't want to whip out the huge Riva in a crowd of smokers. I also am not too keen on spending a lot of money on a PV that I'll only use in social situations. I'm not looking for a "cigarette-like" PV, but for something "slim" like the Joye510? PCC is viable option for 5-hour-ish sessions in a social setting. I'll say that I like the look of the mini with the blue LCD.

4. Are there any affordable sampler packs that can be vouched for? I want to try a lot of different flavors/nicotine contents.

That's everything, for now, so thanks!

Lets see I’m fairly new too but been through most of what you are saying

On the Case.. I use and ego case and it holds more than what I will need in a day.

JOYE EGO CARRYING CASE BLACK

I was a menthol smoker.. so my flavors ran to the Menthol side, I vaped BlueMist Vaping Supplies Robacco Menthol and still vape that 99% of the time. That gives me the satisfaction I had from smoking.

On the cigarette looking devise I cant help you, have not heard a lot of good things about them so I will leave that to others..

Again Blue Mist vaping sells 5 -3ml or 5 - 10ml samplers... and fairly inexpensive.

I love the juice they make, but there are as many fans of one vendor as there is another around here :)

Need to know what juice you are currently using. If you are using 100% PG juice - PG lets through the most nicotine TH and irritation and flavor, makes the weakest vapor. VG dulls TH and flavor, smooths irritation, makes more visible and persistent vapor. Some say having lots of VG in their juice base ratio gives them lung hit - you you are going to give up some TH for it. But nothing is going to feel exactly like burning paper, tar and leaves + 4000 chemicals in your lungs.

For your small one -

You could get a 510 and a 510 PCC - take a look at the PCC at NoSMokeVA.com - it holds 2 batteries (one can be charging) and 6 other things like atty / carts or cartos (I use cartos with Joye 510). Usually I recommend Joye brand 510s but NoSMokeVA also has kits that include the PCC. That PCC does work with manual batteries and I highly recommend manual batteries. All of the 510 manuals I have are totally sealed on the threaded end so they are safe from leaks from dripping and cartomizers. You will need more than 1 battery to last 5 hours, more than 2 if you vape heavily. Even if you get your 510 elsewhere like Cignot.com, consider this PCC.

Alternately - the Joye 510 mega xl batteries (280mah) make 128mm ecig if used with standard cartos (138mm w/ atty+cart). You can only get the less-roomy metal Joye PCC for them (one battery and 3? items). But the manual megas are nice and last 60% longer than standard 510 batteries.

Alternately - if you want a hotter hit and a black look - look for a black KR808D-1 manual (I saw one the other day and I forget where - was not at Vapor4Life). A standard-size battery KR8 w/ carto is 120mm (and 280mah, same as Joye 510 mega battery life). Looks a bit fat in light colors but it actually seems to be about the same diameter as 510 so it should look slim in black or dark colors. KR808D-1/Vapor4Life is a 3.7v battery and you can use prefilled cartos ad refill them or use blanks. You could also get a 510 to 808 adapter for your Riva for using KR8/Vapor4Life etc cartos on it.

With 280mah batteries (mega 510 or the KR8 standard) I think 2 charged ones would last you 5 hours pretty easily unless all you are doing is vaping.

My whole posts disappeared!

Oh well. Regarding going out-

You could get a cheapo disposable. Lig Cig USA has one with carts and a charger for $10.

Disposable E Cigarette & Disposable Cigarette Filters | Disposable Eletronic Cigarette Refill Cartrdiges at LiteCigUSA

I don't know if you're going to be able to find anything small that will last 5 hours. Most of the minis have short battery life so you'll need to bring batteries and juice. You can always get the standard 510 because they use the same carts as the one you have but battery life is pretty short.

Gah! Many points to respond to!

I'll have to look closer at VG liquids. My next order will have some good variety.

I'm not too keen in disposables. What I neglected in my OP was that I want a manual battery. Most of the "slim" "cigarette-like" PVs I've seen are automatic!

And the eGo case is far too big from pictures! I suppose I'm wondering if there's a good pocket-sized case (summer and no-jacket is coming soon!). I've seen traditional cigarette cases used, but I wonder if there something better.

I carry my stuff in an eyeglass case.

V4L makes KR808's with manual batteries. If you sign up for their newsletter they have great sales too.

I've been keeping my eyes out for cases, but I haven't come across many eyeglass cases, I'll admit. Now my eye is trained.

The KR808 looks good with the PCC. I'll have to watch for a good sale. I'd rather not spend more on my occasional/backup PV than my usual device!

You've gotten some great advice thus far. What concentration of nicotine are you using? Upping the nicotine content will definitely give you more of that hit you're looking for. When I first started, I was only using 12mg 100%PG, and it wasn't feeling the way I wanted it to. Upping it to 24mg did the trick for me. Now I'm back down to 12mg since I don't seem to need the TH as much.

The eGo case is the size of an eyeglasses case. I use one, and it fits well into most of my pockets.

I, too, really like a feeling of fullness in my lungs from vaping. It's less important to me now than when I first switched to vaping, but it still counts. For a good balance, you might investigate 50/50 pg/vg juices. I don't think the specific flavor is as important as the base, but the juices I've used that gave me the most satisfying lung hits were FSUSA's hypmotic mist, Tasty Vapor's Atomic Cinnacide, FSUSA's Wyatt Earp, FSUSA's Voodoo, and DIY FlavorShack's Heavenly Kiss (although I don't think they still carry that). I think the reason FSUSA appears so often in this list is that their juices are 50/50.
